Mountain Basketball started off their league title defense on the right foot, recording a 54-49 win over Wasco along with a non-league 71-55 victory over West-Bakersfield earlier in the week.
Nick Phillips led the win against Wasco with 18 points, while Justin Hedberg had a double-double 11 point, 11 rebound night.
Dallas Scaggs also had six points and 14 rebounds, while Cory Lange had eight points, Levi Garrett six points and Kash Knudson and Darren Smith a three-pointer and two point basket, respectively.
Scaggs led the game against West with 18 points, followed by Hedberg with 16 points, Lange with 15 points, and Knudson, Phillips, Garrett, Smith and Travis Farewell combining for 22 points.
Lady Warrior Cagers Overpower Wasco in SSL opener
The Lady Warriors had a great start to their regular season last week, taking a 32-9 victory over Wasco in the SSL opener for both teams.
Amanda Viselli and McKenzie Eberle led in scoring with eight points each, followed by Bre Farinas, Rachel Duff, Paige Bennett, Meghan Kilchrist, Danielle Simpson and Rheanna Cowee with a combined 16 points.
Earlier in the week, the Lady Warriors also defeated West, with Rachel Duff and Bennett leading the way with 14 points apiece.
AJ Snider and Duff also had eight rebounds each, while Bennett and Farinas had six and five steals, respectively against the Vikings.
