1937-38 Warriors

League Record: 1-5 (3-10 Overall)

The 1937-38 Warriors were not identified in the high school yearbook.

The 1937-38 Warriors were led by first year coach Eric Stone. The Warriors finished 1-5 in South Sierra League play and 2-7 for the season.
Maricopa won the league championship.

The primary starters for most of the season were freshman sensation, and center, Jesus Castro; forwards Jack Hodges and George McLarity; guards Edward Fritz and Don Marble.

Tehachapi had one league win over McFarland and had to work pretty hard to get the "W". The game was played in McFarland and one minute into the game the officials stopped play
because the outdoor courts were too wet. So the teams traveled to Delano to complete the game; that didn't work out so the teams went into Bakersfield to complete
the contest! The Warriors won, 30-27, behind Castro's 12 points.

Of historical interest, the Warriors changed school colors from red-and-white to green-and-white, and changed the school mascot name from Indians to Warriors
during the 1937-38 school year. The student body approved this change because several other schools in the area had red as the school color.
