Warriors 2nd in South Sierra League Play
Capture Antelope Valley Tournament

In Nevin McCormick's only year at Tehachapi High, the 1941-42 Warriors finished the season with a 3-3 mark in South Sierra League play,
and 6-6 overall. A pre-league play highlight included consecutive wins over Bishop and Victorville to capture the
Antelope Valley Tournament in Lancaster.

Ramon Castro and Leopold Ramos were selected to the all-tournament team.

In league play, the Warriors defeated McFarland twice; split two games with Shafter; and lost twice to perennial league champion Maricopa.
According to the 1941-42 Tomahawk, "Ramos played the sweetest game of basketball that Tehachapi will see in a long time.
Always leading, always playing his very best, Ramos was unquestionably the "A" team star".

Led by freshman sensation Ray Castro, the Tehachapi B's, or junior varsity, won the South Sierra League championship with a perfect
6-0 record. But the highlight of the season was the B's upset of the highly touted Bakersfield High "B" Sandabs, 22-16, on Jan. 24, in Bakersfield.
