The 1952-53 Warriors include, left to right, Harry Faulkner, Manuel Terrazas, Bob Mantoth, David Elizondo,
coach John Goodell, Ken Peters, Ernie Muro, Bill Spencer, and Vic Cortez.


Warriors 3rd In Sierra League Play
Ernie Muro Earns All-Sierra League 1st Team Honors

Under veteran coach John Goodell, the 1952-53 Warriors finished 4-4 in league play and 6-9 overall, suffering their first losing season since 1944.

In non-league games, Tehachapi was 2-5, defeating Trona and Burroughs.

In league play, the Warriors could not stop Garces or McFarland, losing twice to both schools. McFarland won the Sierra League title in 1953.

Sophomore Ernie Muro paced Tehachapi with a 17 points per game average, and was the only Warrior selected to the five member All-Sierra League 1st team. Ken Peters was selected to the All-Sierra League 2nd team, and David Elizondo and Byron Earley earned all-league Honorable Mention honors.
