The 1967-68 Warriors include, front row, left to right, Mickey farley, Phil Drain, Garry Witty, Rich Davies, Tom Dineley, Manuel Avila,
back row, Manager Dewain Austin, Tom Powell, Allan Austin, Don Ward, Pete Hernandez, Dan Henderson, and Wesley Smith.
Under veteran coach Vic McElroy, the 1967-68 Warriors could not defend their league title from the previous season finishing 8-5 in DIL loop play. The Warriors were led by their returning all-league player Dan Henderson, an aggressive 6'3" strong forward. Warriors Finish 8-5 In DIL Play
Davies Earns MVP and All-DIL 1st Team HonorsIn the pre-league season, the Warriors participated in two tournaments recording a 3-2 record. In the annual Tehachapi Tournament, the Warriors won the championship by defeating Lone Pine, 60-46, and Mojave, 48-46. Henderson and Dan Powell were selected to the All-Tournament team.
In the annual Kern County Tournament in Bakersfield, the Warriors lost by 2 points to Taft; routed McFarland, 66-55, and lost by 1 point to Garces in the consolation championship game. Henderson, a senior, was again selected to the All-Tournament team.
In league play, Tehachapi struggled with inconsistent play, winning big games over league leaders Paraclete, Mojave, and Desert, but then losing critical games to Bishop and Trona.
Both guard Rich Davies and Dan Henderson were selected to the All-DIL 1st team, but Davies was given the Most Valuable Player award.
