BAKERSFIELD – The Warriors reeled off a pair of two 50 yard touchdown runs in the first quarter to pull away early from Bakersfield Christian in an eventual 41-16 win on the road.
Jorge Garcia led Tehachapi (7-1; 3-0 SSL) with 117 yards on just five carries, scoring twice in the first half. Phil Rhodes and Marcus Curiel also combined for 140 yards and two scores to help pad the victory.
Other game highlights included a 79 yard punt by Travis Farewell, who also had four touchbacks on kickoffs.
With the win, Steve Denman secured his 250th win as head coach of the Warrior program. Overall, Denman is a remarkable 250-95-4 in 29 seasons for Tehachapi.
For Bakersfield Christian, Daniel Bligh had five catches for 64 yards, while Hayden Kuchta had 70 yards passing and 49 yards rushing in the second half.
