Tehachapi Outscores Burroughs, 49-28

By Tom Shea, The Bakersfield Californian

TEHACHAPI – Stephen Harlow gave the visiting Burroughs a spark early on in the contest against Tehachapi, taking the opening kickoff 55 yards to the Tehachapi 25 yard line to set up an eventual Troy Spargo 1-yard touchdown run.

But after that score, it was virtually all Warriors, with the Mountain Men countering on their opening drive of the game with a grinding nine play drive that racked up 88 yards and four first downs to set up a Kelly Lorenz 15-yard score.

Three different Warriors went over the 100-yard rushing mark in the game (Josh Strauss, Adam Mullen, and Lorenz) to help Tehachapi to a staggering 548 yards rushing on the ground.

Ridgecrest’s Troy Spargo led the Burros with 225 passing yards on 14 completions, throwing a touchdown to Deril Manns in the third quarter.
