The Warriors defenders Tylere Lombardi #10 and Leo Gonzalez #7 make sure an East running back
is wrestled to the ground for no yardage. Both Lombardi and Gonzalez led the Warriors
with 12 tackles each. The Warriors blanked East 35-0 for their first league game win.

Victory in SYML Opener
Mountain Football got their South Yosemite Mountain League season off to an impressive start with a 35-0 shutout victory
over East Bakersfield last Thursday evening.
Tehachapi (4-2; 1-0 SYML) came out of the gate firing over the Blades with 221 yards of total offense and three rushing scores,
all by the end of the first quarter.
The touchdown runs came from Andrew Aguirre (72 yards), Adrian Pina (89 yards) and Kaidon Hagerty (35 yards). All three runners
combined for 206 yards rushing by game’s end.
Other rushing standouts included Wade Brooks with 41 yards and Roland Pina with 28 yards. Aiden Nicholson also had a 37-yard
rushing touchdown in the third quarter.
The Warriors also had an impact through the air, with Cyler Hoofard making his season debut, hauling in three receptions
for 62 yards from quarterback Colton Michael. Hoofard’s final reception was a 10-yard leaping touchdown in the back-corner of the endzone in the third quarter.
Defensively, Leo Gonzalez had 12 tackles and two sacks and Tylere Lombardi had 12 tackles in the shutout victory. Other leaders included
Jacob Meza (eight tackles, two passes defensed), Liddon Scott (five tackles), Carson Rolow (five tackles), Aguirre (four tackles),
Conner Rothermel (four tackles) and Pina (four tackles). In other highlights, Russell Clayton, Noah Welton, Thaddeus Dyer, Emmett Williams,
Ruben Sedano, Alan Castaneda and Gabriel Perez all recorded tackles while Jr. Alaniz and Evan Denning had quarterback hurries.
The Warriors will have another league game in Bakersfield this week at North. The game against the Stars will be this Friday
evening with a kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m.
JV overwhelms the Blades with high-scoring win
The Junior Varsity Warriors racked up an impressive 444 all-purpose yards and six first-half touchdowns in an eventual
56-8 blowout victory over East last Thursday afternoon.
Jorge Garcia got the scoring fest started with a pair of 22-yard runs for touchdowns in the first quarter, finishing
the game with 57 yards rushing.Tehachapi (2-3-1; 1-0 SYML) then broke the game wide-open in the second quarter with four more touchdowns. Kaston Carothers (35-yard run),
Conner Jenkins (25-yard run), Connor Craig (37-yard run) and Carson Snell (23-yard reception from Jenkins) provided the scores.In the second half, the Warriors padded their lead with two more touchdowns, the first coming on a 13-yard run from
Julian Navarro and the second coming off a 65-yard run from Kyle Shipp.
In special teams, Ivan Madueno was a perfect 6-6 on point after attempts and Austin Rolow had a two-point pass reception
from Caiden Ferguson.
Defensively, Noah Davis had seven tackles and two sacks, followed by Daniel Lambrecht (five tackles), Paxson Schulze
(five tackles), Will Larsen (four tackles), Collin Champman (three tackles) and Rolow (three tackles).
The Warriors will be in action again this Friday afternoon in an away game against North. Kickoff will be at 5 p.m.

35-0 shutout win over East this past Thursday evening.
Tehachapi (4-2, 1-0 SYML) scored on their first three drives of the contest, a 71-yard touchdown run from Andrew Aguirre,
an 89-yard touchdown run from Adrian Pina and a 35-yard touchdown run from Kaidon Hagerty.
In the third quarter, the Warriors put the game away with two more scores. Aiden Nicholson found the
endzone on a 37-yard touchdown run and Cyler Hoofard made his season debut with three catches for 62 yards,
which included a leaping 10-yard touchdown reception in the back of the endzone off a
pass from Colton Michael. Tehachapi finished the night with 379 total yards of offense.
Defensively, the Warriors were led by Leo Gonzalez with 12 tackles and two sacks and Tylere Lombardi with 12 tackles.
Jacon Meza also had eight tackles and two pass deflections.
East (1-5, 0-1) was led by Randy Lenor with 63 yards on 15 carries. Frankie Gonzalez and Angel Chacon recorded sacks and
< Angel Santillian had a fumble recovery.
