Warrior running back Connor Timm (pictured with ball) had a tremendous game against Garces Friday night, Sep. 8,
rushing for 151 yards on 23 carries and scoring one touchdown. Timm and the rest of the Warriors defeated the Rams, 28-27,
in a dramatic overtime finish. The win snapped a six game losing streak to Garces dating back to 2011. The Warriors host

TEHACHAPI – One Tehachapi fan probably explained it best.
“I don’t think my heart can take this all season,” he said.
In one of the most epic battles between Garces and Tehachapi, it came to the final extra point.
The Warriors made theirs while, while the Rams unfortunately didn’t.
Following a 2-yard touchdown run by Garrett Curry, Trevor Medovitch drilled the extra point as Tehachapi players ran onto the field as they eked out a 28-27 overtime victory over Garces, Friday night at Tehachapi High.
“This week we came together. I know last week we were unprepared (against Burroughs),” Warriors running back Connor Timm said.
“Tonight we clicked on all cylinders. This is a huge moment for all of us. This is huge for the team and a big confidence boost for us.”
Timm rushed for 151 yards on 23 carries and scored a touchdown. The Warriors (1-1), who were embarrassed last week against Burroughs, rushed for 304 yards as a team.
They only threw four passes the entire night.
The score was tied 14-14 at halftime and Tehachapi took its first lead of the game after Timm scored from 35 yards out giving his team a 21-14 lead.
The Rams (0-3) responded in the fourth quarter to tie the score 21-21 following a 4-yard touchdown run by quarterback Joseph Campbell.
The Warriors’ victory spoiled a great night for Campbell who finished 20-of-31 for 297 yards and three touchdowns.
With the score tied late in the fourth quarter, Garces had an opportunity to win the game outright.
The Rams lined up for a 42-yard field goal, but an illegal procedure penalty moved the ball back five yards.
Garces opted to go for it and Campbell threw a strike to Zachary Hebbard who dropped the pass in the end zone and the game went into overtime.
Hebbard redeemed himself in overtime when Campbell hit him for a 19-yard score giving the Rams a 27-21 lead.
Another penalty moved the ball back five yards and Peter Delis missed the extra point giving the Warriors hope.
A 17-yard run by Timm set up the tying score for Tehachapi.
The annual game between the two schools is now celebrated as the "Ogilvie Bowl" as a tribute to retired coach Gary Ogilvie.
Ogilvie (pictured), was a standout quarterback for Garces during his playing days. He led the Rams to their first ever
Valley Championship in 1953. Ogilvie would return to Garces as the head coach from 1964-1969.
During his six years at Garces, his teams won several SSL championships. Ogilvie then moved to Tehachapi where he was
the head coach two different times, from 1971 to 1974, and from 1979 to 1981. During that period, his Warriors teams
went 68-12, capturing four DIL championships and one CIF sectional championship.
