Warriors Put The Game Away Early In Win Over Bulldogs

Mountain Football had a dominating performance on the gridiron this past Friday night in a 42-7
non-league rout over Golden Valley.

Tehachapi (7-2, 3-0 SYML) struck early and often, accumulating 450 all-purpose yards and a well-balanced
197 yards rushing and 145 yards passing. The Warriors built a 35-0 halftime lead
and started the second half with a mercy-rule, running clock.


Leading the ground game was Adrian Pina with two rushing touchdowns. Mason Rothermel and Aiden Nicholson
also had touchdown runs.

Quarterback Colton Michael had a good night passing with seven completions, throwing two touchdown passes
to Cyler Hoofard, who finished with three receptions for 75 yards. Kaidon Hagerty also had two catches
for 39 yards and Andrew Aguirre had two catches for 31 yards.

On defense, Jacob Meza and Liddon Scott led the way with 10 tackles each, followed by Tristan Smith
(eight tackles), Conner Rothermel (six tackles) and Thaddeus Dyer, Austin Tripodi, Gabriel Perez, Noah Welton,
Alan Castaneda, Aguirre and Pina each recording five tackles each. Evan Denning, Conner Rothermel and
Aguirre also had sacks in the game. Leo Gonzalez (four tackles) and Martin Marmolejo,
Carter Kolesar, Carson Rolow and Ethan Kent each finished with three tackles.

Highlighting the special teams was Anthony Cerbantez, who had a standout game with four punt returns
that went for a total of 92 yards. One return went for a touchdown but was
called back on a penalty. In the kicking game, Kolesar was a perfect six-for-six on point
after attempts and had three kickoff touchbacks.

With the victory, the Warriors clinched at least a share of the South Yosemite Mountain League championship,
winning their third-straight (2022, 2023, 2024). Tehachapi clinched the title this season after North
upset South last Friday, 27-26, in overtime. The championship is also Tehachapi’s 33rd football league title in school history.

The Warriors can clinch an out-right league title this Friday night with a victory over South
(7-2, 3-0 SYML). Kickoff in the SYML championship game will be at 7:30 p.m. at Coy Burnett Stadium.


JV Warriors Record Big Victory Over Bulldogs

The Warriors flexed their might last Friday afternoon in 52-8 non-league victory over Golden Valley.

Tehachapi (5-3-1, 3-0 SYML) scored at will over the Bulldogs, scoring 38 points by halftime and
started the entire second half with a mercy-rule, running clock.

Conner Jenkins and Vandon Villaneuva both finished the game at quarterback with 177.1 ratings,
each firing touchdown completions to Julian Navarro and Jaxson Means for 44 and 25 yards, respectively.

Mountain Football also rolled to 297 rushing yards, with Jorge Garcia finishing with 96 yards
(including a 70-yard touchdown run) and Austin Rolow 47 yards and two rushing scores. Kaston Carothers also
had a touchdown run and Connor Craig had 82 yards rushing.


On defense, Lasa Hemphill had a team-leading six tackles, a sack and an interception. Other standouts
were Isaiah Bachara, Keagen Armstrong, Broderick Ewing and Rolow with four tackles, each. Owen Schneider,
Daniel Lambrecht, Will Larsen, Brian Harrison and Caiden Ferguson also had strong afternoons with
three tackles, apiece. Navarro and Ferguson also had fumble recoveries.

In the kicking game, Ivan Madueno went seven-for-seven on point after attempts and had a 20-yard field goal.

The JV will play for an out-right SYML championship in their last game of the season this Friday
afternoon at home against South. Kickoff will be at 5 p.m.

The Warriors orchestrated a balanced offensive attack in a 42-7 non-league victory over the Bulldogs.

Tehachapi (7-2) had only 26 plays in the contest but still registered 342 total yards, 197 rushing and 145 passing.
Adrian Pina had two rushing scores and Mason Rothermel and Aiden Nicholson added two more touchdowns to lead the ground game.

Through the air, quarterback Colton Michael had seven completions and two touchdown passes,
both going to Cyler Hoofard, who finished with a game-high three receptions for 75 yards.
Kaidon Hagerty also had two catches for 39 yards and Andrew Aguirre had two catches for 31 yards.

On special teams, Anthony Cerbantez had 92 total yards on four punt returns, with one return that went
for a touchdown but it was called back on a penalty.

Golden Valley (3-6) was led by Antonio Cassias and Carson Para, who both combined for 104 yards
rushing in the game. Cassias also connected on a 14-yard touchdown completion to Brandon Ramirez
plate in the third quarter.
