Warriors versus Independence Falcons (Bakersfield)
Independence defeated the Warriors 21-6 in 2021 to make it five straight wins over Tehachapi in the South Yosemite League.
In 2014, the Warriors joined the South Yosemite League which included Independence High School. The Warriors and Falcons met for the first time in a varsity football game in 2014, with Tehachapi winning a close game, 24-18. In 2015, Tehachapi made it two straight, defeating the Falcons in Bakersfield, 42-26.
Independence High School is part of the large Kern Unified School District. The high school has just over 1,900 students (2013)
and is located in southwest Bakersfield. The address for the school is 8001 Old River Road.
Independence High School opened in 2008 with the first graduating class in 2011.
