FRESNO — It’s shaping up to be a big year for legendary Tehachapi High coach Steve Denman.

Denman, who entered the Bob Elias Kern County Sports Hall of Fame in February, added another honor Saturday, June 18, when the
California Coaches Association inducted him into its Hall of Fame.

This fall, Denman likely will become the fifth member of the 300-victory club among California prep football coaches.
He enters the season with 295 wins. He has had 31 winning seasons out of 34 as the Warriors’ head coach.

The rest of the CCA Hall of Fame class was Mission Viejo football coach Bob Johnson, Modesto-Central Catholic coach Roger Canepa,
Salinas boys basketball coach Joe Chappell and Mira Costa volleyball coach Dae Lea Aldrich.

Denman is the fourth Kern County coach to be inducted by the CCA, following Delano football coach Ray Frederick in 1973,
Bakersfield High football coach Paul Briggs in 1977 and McFarland cross country coach Jim White in 2005.
