The Warriors spoiled North’s homecoming night last Friday with an impressive performance in all phases, closing the
evening with a 48-7 road victory.
Tehachapi (5-2; 2-0 SYML) accumulated 248 rushing yards overall from 10 different players, with Andrew Aguirre, Adrian Pina,
Kaidon Hagerty, Wade Brooks and Cayden King all reaching the endzone on rushing scores.
Pina also recorded a six-yard reception for a touchdown from quarterback Colton Michael just before halftime. Michael
finished the game with five completions and 59 yards passing, with his longest completion going to Cyler Hoofard
for 31 yards on a diving catch near the goal line.
On defense, the Warriors limited North (2-5; 0-1 SYML) to only 110 yards overall, with 69 yards coming on one play in the third quarter.
Leo Gonzalez and Aguirre led the team in tackles with six apiece, followed by Jacob Meza with five tackles
and Mason Rothermel, Hagerty and Pina with four tackles each. Other standouts included Austin Tripodi, Tylere Lombardi,
Liddon Scott, Ethan Cardenas and King with three tackles each. Gonzalez, Lombardi and Hagerty all recorded sacks,
while Carter Kolesar and Aguirre had interceptions.
Aguirre’s interception actually came on special teams when an errant snap forced the North punter into a pass, with Aguirre
picking off the attempt and running 16 yards to the endzone for a touchdown. Other special teams highlights
included Kolesar recording three touchbacks on kickoffs and King returning a kickoff 89 yards to the 11-yard line at the
start of the third quarter. Conner Rothermel also had a 21-yard kickoff return.
With the victory, Mountain Football finished the regular season with an undefeated 4-0 mark on the road. The final three remaining
< regular season games will all be at home at Coy Burnett Stadium.
The next contest will be homecoming this Friday night against West. Varsity kickoff is set at 7:30 p.m., but fans are encouraged
to come early to ensure they get a seat. The venue is expected to be filled to capacity.
JV's Overwhelm North JV's 41-0
The Warriors recorded 359 yards rushing and five touchdowns on the ground in a 41-0 drubbing over North.
Tehachapi (3-3-1; 2-0 SYML) had rushing touchdowns from Jorge Garcia, Kyle Shipp, Connor Craig, Noah Davis and Julian Navarro.
Garcia finished as the leading rusher with 96 yards on 10 attempts. Shipp had the longest run from scrimmage
on a 70-yard touchdown run and Kaston Carothers had a great afternoon with 72 yards on just five carries.
The Warriors also had a touchdown through the air when Carson Snell had a 31-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Conner Jenkins just before halftime.
Defensively, Austin Rolow and Isaiah Bachara led the team with nine tackles and a sack apiece, followed by Peyton Popejoy
(seven tackles, sack), Kane Harding (six tackles, sack), Paxson Schulze (six tackles), Will Larsen (five tackles, sack),
Shipp (five tackles) and Lasa Hemphill (four tackles). Daniel Lambrecht and Caiden Ferguson recorded interceptions.
The Warriors will next be in action again on homecoming this Friday afternoon against North. Kickoff will be at 5 p.m.

On special teams, Aguirre intercepted a pass from the Stars’ punter and returned it 16 yards for a touchdown.

The Stars got on the scoreboard in the third quarter when Justin Lewis had a 69-yard rushing touchdown.
