The Warriors and Panthers met for the first time in a varsity football contest in 2009 --- a CIF valley playoff game. Amazing when you consider the two schools have had football programs for a very long time. The Panthers won the initial meeting on the mountain, 24-17, to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
The orange and green clad Panthers participate in the East Yosemite League. The Panthers are one of three public high schools in Porterville.
Porterville High School is located at 465 West Olive Avenue in southwest Porterville, approximately 92 miles from Tehachapi. Porterville has a student population of 1,800 students (2012).
