Warriors versus Rosamond Roadrunners

The Warriors lead the overall series 29-5 in a rivalry which dates back to 1965. After an 8 year layoff, the Warriors resumed play with games against the Runners' in 2008. The Warriors and Runners' were set to play in September 2001, but the scheduled contest was canceled (as were games all across the country) due to the tragic events of September 11 in New York City.
Between 1965 and 1979, the two schools were members of the Desert-Inyo League and Tehachapi won 11 of those 15 contests. However, Rosamond defeated Tehachapi three straight years from 1969-1971 as the Roadrunners claimed two league championships during that era. The Roadrunners were led during that time by ALL-CIF running back Jimmy Johnson.
Between 1980 and 2011, the Warriors have dominated Rosamond winning 18 times in 19 non-league games. In 1999, a very good Rosamond team "shocked" Tehachapi with a 27-20 win in Rosamond.
