Shafter Manhandles Tehachapi

SHAFTER -- Quarterback Mickey Polley ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more to lead Shafter to a 35-18 upset victory over Tehachapi in South Sequoia League play.
The Warriors' led 18-14 in the second quarter when James Louis scored on a 9-yard TD run, but were held scoreless in the second half.
Shafter kicker Alvaro Garcia booted a 37-yard field goal that hit off of the cross bar as time expired in the first half as part of 21 unanswered points for the Generals (4-5, 1-3 SSL).
Polley threw two long TD passes in the third quarter to give Shafter the lead for good. He connected with Jordan Reimer for a 78-yard score and then tossed a 60-yard TD pass to Ryan Thompson, giving the Generals a 32-18 lead.
Garcia capped the scoring with a 31-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
Polley opened the scoring with a 6-yard TD run in the first quarter before Tehachapi (4-5, 2-2) responded with two 1-yard scoring runs by Lance Lange to give the Warriors a 12-7 lead in the second quarter.
Gabe Bressler led Tehachapi with 163 yards on 14 carries.
