Hutchinson leads the way as
Tehachapi wins SSL opener, 35-0
WASCO -- The Tehachapi High football team took advantage of five Wasco turnovers Friday night en route to a 35-0 victory in the South Sequoia League opener for both teams.
Warriors running back Tanner Hutchinson scored on Tehachapi's first play from scrimmage following the first of four Wasco fumbles for a 7-0 lead.
Hutchinson finished with 152 yards on just 15 carries.
Jeremy Clark crashed in from one yard out and capped Tehachapi's scoring with a 27-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Tehachapi converted two third-quarter turnovers by the Tigers into touchdowns. Kris Haycock scored both, on runs of 1 and 11 yards.
The Warriors (1-0 SSL, 3-3 overall) outrushed the Tigers (0-1 SSL, 1-5) 236-83.
Gustavo Soto led Wasco with 79 yards on 19 carries.
