SCHLAIS LEADS WARRIORS PAST WASCO

TEHACHAPI -- Zack Schlais ran 19 times for 109 yards and Mike Faulkner and Robert Wright each scored a touchdown to lead Tehachapi to a 19-7 South Sequoia League victory over Wasco.
The Warriors (3-3, 1-0 SSL) held Wasco to 31 total yards -- including 17 rushing and 14 passing -- and four first downs.
Tehachapi's Matt Deger blocked a Wasco punt out of the end zone for a safety and a 2-0 Tehachapi lead in the first quarter. The Warriors led the rest of the way.
On their next possession, the Warriors drove 60 yards for their first TD -- a 3-yard run by Wright.
Tehachapi opened the third quarter with a 68-yard drive, with Faulkner scoring on a 1-yard plunge. The drive used up more than seven minutes as the Warriors twice converted on fourth-down situations.
Eduardo Ramirez scored the lone TD for Wasco (3-3, 0-1) on a 55-yard fumble recovery in the fourth quarter.
Wright had 13 carries for 68 yards. Faulkner had seven carries for 46 yards.
