"JESUS: THE REASON FOR THE SEASON"

Cora Taylor's Christmas Greetings from Brazil, December 2000

JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

MAY THE GLORY OF GOD'S GIFT TO US

JESUS CHRIST

FILL US WITH HOPE AND WONDER

THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON

God Took Many of His Jewels From Earth

Last Christmas I received a letter from a special friend, Corrine. She said, "Earth was missing a real jewel, but heaven gained one."

Yes, the Lord has taken unto Himself many jewels from my family this year too. My sister Myrtle went and met up with her husband Bill.

By the way, I sent a message with her to be sure and tell my Darling I love him dearly and miss him much.

I know she didn't forget; she had the mind of Christ there. Then my sister Bernice left October 1 and met up with her lover [her faithful life-partner and loving husband for many, many years!] when she awoke. She slept right into heaven. His name is Russ.

"I LOVE YOU JESUS!"

What was shocking was my nephew--only 50 years old, radio announcer [and Assistant Manager of Station KXEI, Havre, Montana]. The Lord wanted him closer, and took him home. I didn't send a message with any one of them to my Lord; I do that myself. I did scold myself the other day, however, as I was forgetting to tell the Lord, "I LOVE YOU, LORD JESUS!" daily! That I didn't forget [to do daily] with Carl.

Angels Are Looking After Us Here

My son-in-love left for meetings tired, and my Beth put her head on his shoulder and he fell fast asleep [while at the wheel of his speeding car]. Danny felt someone shake his shoulders, and he awoke to find no visible person around. Calvin wants to know if it was the same angel that saved him from a HEAD-ON [collision] a few years ago on a bridge going to Belo Horizonte. We all praise the Lord.

My Brazil, Like My Savior, is BIG!

It's almost a year now, this coming December 18th, that all my four children came to help me celebrate my 50th year as a missionary here in this huge land. Did you know that Brazil is as big as the States with an extra Texas thrown in? Someone asked, "What would we want with an EXTRA Texas? Besides a chapel full of old friends, there were around 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. I was popping with joy.

"Cora's Project"

Danny [Dan Templeton, her "son-in-love"] is building a house between Peniel and his house. He says it is for me as he wants me closer so if I get old and need help they will be right there. I've told him I am ony 85 and feeling tops, but he is going straight ahead. When I see how big it will be, I am convinced he likes visitors. In spite of all this, someone has named it, CORA'S PROJECT.

MAY THE WONDERS OF HIS BIRTH FILL OUR HEARTS WITH RENEWED HOPE AND JOY THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON!

--Missionary in Brazil, Cora

Note from Editors: Those who wish can say thank you to this magnificent lady for fifty years of faithfulness serving as a New Tribes Missionary to Brazil. This means quite a bit of varied mission work, for besides being co-founder of a church in the village where she lives, founded with her late missionary husband, Carl Taylor, Cora Taylor's manifold ministry of the Gospel includes music, meals, hospitality, and compassion to the peoples of Brazil: Brazilians, Indians, lepers, drug addicts and imprisoned men of the local prison, and her prayer ministry for people's healing and also advising askers regarding many problems people have in marriages and life, as well as her mission church ministry in Jacutinga, Brazil, amidst the coffee country of southern Brazil. Does that sound like enough to keep anyone busy for 50 years! It is more than sufficient, yet she handles it all with grace.

Anyone can sent greetings to her at her new home at the new Cora Taylor Guest House, built by her son-in-law for her and also for the comfort and restoration of tired missionaries come to the area. The address is: Cora Taylor, Caixa Postal 29, 37590 Jacutinga, Minas Gerais, BRAZIl. Love gifts of financial blessing, with the example of Jesus who was given contributions toward his ministry on earth, scripture says, by Joanna, Chuza's wife, several Marys, and other godly older women who ministered to his needs on his ministry trips around Judaea and Galilee.
