Grandma Stadem was one of the finest persons
I've ever known. You have captured the essence of her
humility and strength. Thank you for this kindness. Russ
Schaefer
Dear Bart: The carefully boxed pictures of
Mama arrived safely May 19th. The boxes were quickly
opened of course, and my brother, his wife, and I stood in
amazement at the beautiful masterpiece you produced from
the small photograph you had to work with. Who could hold
back the tears after looking at that beautiful painting
that looked just like her. I couldn't sleep for a long
time that night thinking of the beautiful work, the many
prints sent, the beautiful frames, the caption, "Praying
For You," and the hint of the Bible she loved to read, the
natural way she wore her hair, the sweater she loved to
wear, and especially, her dear hands that have done so many
kindnesses in her long ninety-eight years. How can we
THANK you and those involved in such a wonderful love-gift
to our family? Words fail me, but please accept our
thanks. We hope to see you sometime. The Lindstroms have
been a great help and boost to the work in Atascadero, and
we praise God for the Lindstrom family. With much love,
Bernice Schaefer
Mr. Lindstrom: Thank you so much for the
picture of Grandma Stadem. What a beautiful and most
generous gift it is. We will treasure it always. Our
sincere thanks, Del Von, Ria, Corey, and Jason

Dear Friend: You'll never know what a
blessing it was for our relationship to receive a beautiful
picture of our Mama, Grandma, and Great Grandma. Your
artistry was superb. It was just like Mama in every
detail. All of us were touched and some of us shed tears.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and ask God to
bless you for doing this. Bill & Myrtle

You've captured my Grandmother in that pose
and at that task which best typifies her in our
memories...thanks, Victor Svanoe
God bless you for your goodness and
love--for sending us all Grandma's picture! What a
wonderful effect on our lives and all those around us--You
are blessed! Love, Rachel Svanoe
God has definitely made you a special
blessing to everyone in our family. This picture of our
dear Grandma has touched our hearts and reminds us every
day of how our Grandma's prayers have brought us this far.
May God touch you now with His love and leave a finger
print no one can rub off. Our love and thanks, Mim, Ron and
Chad
You sure made an impression on my life and
helped me through a great challenge of needing to trust God
through prayer for my need of "maintaining". I have been
through AA treatment three times now--have been dry for one
and a half years and am going into chemical dependency
counseling. My Grandma's prayers will help a lot, thanks
to the beautiful reminder you gave us. Thank you so much,
Luther Svanoe
Thanks so much for this extraordinary gift
of Grandma's picture. My life has been through a lot of
ups and downs, and I'm sure Grandma helped me through a lot
of downs. The amazing part is that there couldn't have
been a better time for me to see this picture and
remember...Your talent is amazing & God-given, I'm sure.
Thanks to your wonderful generosity, Al
Svanoe
I can't thank you enough for all the work
and effort you put in to make and send these picures to us.
I'm too young to remember Grandpa but I do remember
Grandma! Thank you very, very, very much! Sincere thanks,
Debbie Svanoe
Dear Bart Lindstrom: Life is full of
surprises and I must say you are responsible for my most
recent very pleasant surprise! Thank you so very much for
your precious gift in the beautiful painting of Grandma
Stadem. What memories this picture brings to mind--much of
who I am I attribute to Grandma, a red-head with freckles
heads the list. Much of who she was, I would like to be.
Her deep faith in God, her love of family, her patience and
HUMOR [website guests, please go to the link below for page that
will feature "Mama's Quotables," which will show her
marvelous sense of humor--Editors]...We have hung the
picture in our diningroom and will daily enjoy remembering
Grandma and be reminded in all the prayers she did say for
all her family and all the other memories seeing her again
brings to mind. Thanks again so very much for this
priceless gift. Janelle Swenson
Mr. Bart Lindstrom: My husband and I were
regretfully unable to attend the Stadem reunion this year;
however, we did get to stop by our oldest sister Pearl's
home in Puyallup, Wa. shortly after she arrived back from
the reunion. Pearl set us down with the words, "I have a
surprise to show you." She came with something in her
hands and all we could see was a brown card-board covering
something! She made a detailed, exhaustive account of Russ
taking a picture, it could not be used as it was, but a
dear friend of the Schaefers, who was an invisioner had
taken on the awesome task of correcting what needed to be
corrected, and in love had made enough copies for the whole
Stadem family relationship. At this point Pearl took a
deep breath...surely to carry on longer giving a more
detailed account...to hold us in suspense...at this point I
almost screamed, "Pearl, will you please show us what you
are concealing?" Pearl slipped the card-board from the
picture and I just can't tell you what an overwhelming
experience it was for me to see such a BEAUTIFUL PICTURE OF
MAMA IN PRAYER! How often we saw her in just such a
position...holding on...praying expectantly! Mama knew the
key to open heaven's door and she used it daily. She used
the power of faith through reading God's Word and praying.
She knew that God's delays were not God's denials...she
accepted them as opportunities in disguise. Yes, I shed
tears as I held the striking artistically-framed
picture...with the curlers removed...the beautiful blue
background to bring out the golden-grey in her hair, and
her sun-tanned skin (from working in her vegetable and
flower gardens). Mama--ordinary? No, to us she was great!
Mama exercised discipline in prayer which certainly
generated enormous strength. Her prayers are still being
answered as they, like incense,go up before the Throne of
God. Mr. Lindstrom, we say "THANK YOU" and "God bless you
for this labor of love and enormous gift" which will be a
daily reminder of one of God's highest
representatives...our mother. Sincerely, In Christ,
Estelle (and Pastor Joe) Rangen. A Grandmother had
discovered a treasure, she sat reading her Bible. Her
grandson's friend asked what she was doing, he answered,
"Oh, Grandmother is cramming for exams!"
Dear Mr. Lindstrom: I have seen countless
pictures in my forty-seven years of life, but never have I
been so affected as when I focused on your work, "Praying
For You." Admittedly, the relationship of a prejudiced
Granddaughter has some bearing on one's emotions...but you
are held in high esteem for capturing the spirit of one of
the most godly women I've ever met and because of your
enormous generosity and skill, a ministry of her life will
continue to make a daily impact in our home as "Praying For
You" graces our dining-room wall, blending into our decor
as if it were custom-ordered and designed. You have
brought to us the greatest treasure any relative could
inherit--the love, concern, and prayers of a godly
Grandmother who sought God's Word and light, accordingly.
Where does one find words to express our deep heartfelt
gratitude?! My family joins me in sending you our
sincerest thanks. It would be a privilege to meet you and
express our appreciation in person. Until then--Sincerely
yours, Chloe Koslowsky
