A SORT OF PORTRAIT SKRIBBLE TUTORIAL THINGY
Wot you have all bin waitin for ;^)
Part 2 ~ Let's choose wot to skribble
Before you start, bear in mind that the more effort and time you put into the drawing, the more you will get out of it. The simplest of my skribbles is 3 hours work ~ and that is "pencil on paper" time. There are no short-cuts and if you want to produce acceptable pencil work to the levels that I work at in ten minutes then quit now because it's not going to happen. What you are about to see represents 5 hours "pencil on paper" time spread over two days.
2. SELECTING A SUBJECT OR IDEA
2.1
I recently received some outline drawings by email asking how to make them look realistic, the pictures from the email are shown below.
2.2
I have chosen one of the portrait drawings (below) as an example and will metamorphose it into a skribble done "my" way.
2.3
My first job is to lightly trace the image onto copy paper. Lay the copy paper over the printout, tape down with low-tack tape and trace through as below. Easy-peasy so far ;^)
2.4
Below is my tracing against the print from the email.
