These were the mermaids that I drew as part of a project for putting fishy murals onto my 1975 Corvette Stingray (350ci Auto). The project was never finished but the drawings survived and in August 2001 my fin-tailed fishy females joined Noelani for my first upload onto Elfwood. All the mermaids were drawn onto A2 (420mm x 594mm = 16 1/2" x 23 3/8") paper. I have no idea of what pencils I used but I do remember using my finger end and a shirt sleeve to "blend" the graphite for the shading. By the time I had stopped drawing mermaids I had an average grasp of basic skribbling technique but was not to put pencil to paper again until 2001. There is another mermaid drawing which I almost put here....... it was a mistake and one of those pictures that just goes wrong in a big way! However....... as I was rebuilding this website in October 2005, I decided to have a mess with the original image to see if anything could be salvaged. I loaded her into various computer graphics programs and the result can be seen on the 2005 gallery and my Elfwood gallery (She is waiting for her ticket to go through as I write this LOL). |
