As you may have guessed from the title, this is my personal favourite of my 'mermaid' series. There is no story to this skribble, she's just minding her own business doing mermaidy type things and deep in mermaidy type thoughts. Actually there is something to tell about this pic. You may have noticed that all the other early mermaids were portrait orientated and this one is landscape.......... Well you'd be wrong there LOL The original drawing was done with the image rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise........ so what you see as the right edge here is actually the top!! When I photographed the pic with the digi-Kodak (It's A2 so I couldn't scan it), I had to hold the camera on its "side", y'know... long ways up!! Anyway when I saw her on screen, she was orientated as you see here and I just thought she looked so much better this way and that's the way she stayed........ but yeah! That's why the light source seems to come from the right side instead of "above" LOL |
