You may even have noticed already that there is a smattering of colour in the thumbnails below. These are a serious attempt at watercolour/pencil hybrid pictures which all follow the same process. First I lightly sketch an outline then paint using watercolours until there is no white-space left on the paper. Then I skribble the detail, light and shadow onto the paint with pencils....... I call the technique "Splosh'n'Skribble", I'll see where it takes me. My discovery of solid graphite sticks last year and a shift up to A3 size (297mm x 420mm = 11 11/16" x 16 1/2") has meant a greater use of contrast and the ability put more detail into my skribbles, I'm hoping this is an improvement. You'll have to let me know ;^D |
