Ways to Cope With the Baseball Off-Season

1. Read on of these great baseball books: Shoeless Joe by WP Kinsella, The Iowa Baseball Confederacy by WP Kinsella, Wait Till Next Year by Doris Kearns Goodwin, Tales From the Dugout by Mike Shannon, Baseball For Brain Surgeons and Other Fans by Tim McCarver

2. Go to www.totalbaseball.com and read about all the best players in history

3. Rent one of these great baseball movies: Field of Dreams, Bull Durham, Major League 1 and 2 (3 was pretty bad), Eight Men Out

4. Start your own free baseball web page using Angelfire

5. Collect a bunch of baseball cards from stores and friends and organize them in team, date, or alphabetical order

6. Cover the walls in your room with baseball posters, drawings, newspaper photos, etc.

7. Order the offical All-Century Team book and other merchandise fromwww.majorleaguebaseball.com

8. Attempt to get along by watching football and hockey. I know it will be hard, but they can actually be pretty interesting.

9. Memorize who threw the 16 (i think that's the number) perfect games in history and learn about the circumstances

10. For the truly desperate, memorize:
- Every hall of fame inductee and the order in which they were inducted
- Who pitched every no-hitter in baseball history
