Commentary:
The snow snake can reach up to six feet long but they generally don’t get any longer than three to three
and half feet long. They are graceful as water as they slither across the ground. The serpent has a hide of
pure white fur but it’s under belly has white to blue scales. Two beady red eyes that seem to glow in the
dark are on it’s small head. It’s mouth is fairly small as well but when it is open, two long poisoned fangs
can be seen. These fangs fold in when the snake closes his mouth.
Snow snakes are active all year round and can be found only in the colder regions where there is snow on
the ground for most of the year. These snakes are very skilled at finding burrows of other creatures. They
mainly eat rabbits, squirrels and other rodents. Snow Snakes will flee if encountered by name-givers but
if trapped, they will fiercely fight back.
Snow snakes do most of their traveling beneath the crust of the snow. One must be careful when walking
on the brittle crust on the surface that they don’t break through. One who breaks through the snow might
accidentally fall into a snow snake burrow. These snakes burrow in groups of four to six and any unlucky
person who steps into a burrow will have their legs bitten to shreds.
These snakes have a tremendous sense of smell that they use to hunt. They also can feel the vibrations of
creatures that walk on the snow so long as the snow snake is beneath the surface of the snow. The snow
snake also has low light vision for it travels a lot under the snow. Furthermore, snow snakes have a
dangerous venom. When a snow snake bites a person and scores a wound, the poison seeps into the blood
stream. The poison does step six damage for a total of five rounds. The one weakness that snow snakes
have is fire. Any fire based attack against a snow snake increases the damage step by five. Keep in mind
that the attack must be fire, not heat.
