PREDICTION FOR NATIONAL CHIEF ELECTION (Assembly of First Nations 2009) by brendan cross
Tuesday, July 22, 2008.
"I predict Perry Bellegarde will run a strong campaign. His passion for his people and his track record have years behind them. Now is the time for change by force of necessity. Perry knows this.
I also think Chief Fontaine should be one of the lead candidates for the federal Liberals in the next election. I'm serious."

So, a few months ago, I fell into a quick sleep in the middle of the afternoon.
I heard a voice say: "I want to show you something."
Stupid me, I asked who it was- who was speaking to me.
The voice was silent and I slept.
Then once again: "I want to show you something."
O.K. ...
I was standing in the corner at the back of a stage. At the front was The National Chief. Alright, I thought, Chief Fontaine is giving a speech...
The Chief was wearing the head-dress, and a blanket was wrapped around him. But I was behind, looking from the back corner.
I thought, gee, why is Chief Fontaine wearing his head-dress AND a blanket?
Beside the Chief were Elders, friends, and family. I thought, hey, I must go and give my regards, if nothing more.
I slowly walked to towards the front of the stage, creeping almost, to see Chief Fontaine's face, make eye contact and see if I was welcome to approach. I came parallel with the National Chief.
It was Perry Bellegarde.
I woke up. I had slept 5 minutes.
