song written from the perspective of the ex-boyfriend of a chick with a persecution complex (it's all your fault)

how far do i have to go

to do right by you

you say you've been wronged

but all i did was tell the truth

refrain:

it's all your fault

it's all your fault, she screams

what did i do

to deserve this

you say you have trouble saying no to me

you tell me you can't say anything but please

well i don't remember being so demanding

no i don't remember asking for so much

refrain

bridge:

so now you're the victim

and i'm your killer

but i don't remember

signing up for this

i tell you you must have a persecution complex

you say i don't know what that means but it doesn't sound good

you say what are you trying to tell me what are you saying

why is the whole world against me

refrain

refrain

sarah says: although reading the title alone will probably give you a pretty good idea of what this song is about, i feel compelled to explain it anyway. which is actually the whole reason i wrote this song in the first place (to explain things). i've been in several relationships were i think i've given the guy more credit than he probably deserves as far as why things didn't work out between us. you see, i have this complex, and normal basic guy behaviour often seems like an outragous attack on my character. this song is pretty much an apology to "the ex-boyfriends" who i maybe treated a little unfairly...maybe.
