2:22pm

The wind does people favours here, I see. I reckon there are some times where it's the only thing that makes a hot day bearable for these people. And air conditioning, of course.

I slept in today which was much needed and when I got up at 11pm, I was surprised to find Alex at home. His dad said it was too hot to go to school today apparently. It's 35 degrees.

I am writing on a bumpy surface because I have brilliantly coloured leaves collected from the Fern Gully path pressed in the pages of my book. Alex and I decided they would be better to send to Canadians than silly postcards.

Alex asked me to come to the park with him and here we are. We fed the ducks scraps of bread and tried to avoid the seagulls. We sat in the shade of ferns. Now I think we're about to head back and go for a swim. 2:31pm

8:34pm

This will be a short entry as my hand is awful sore from writing letters to everyone at home. And I have a big family, so it was a lot of letters. Poor hand of mine.

The past two days have been the best so far. I think it's because I haven't been feeling any pressure to get things accomplished. You're not supposed to accomplish things on vacation you know. I think this lessening of pressure has much to do with the fact that I've gotten my day tours and hostel room booked and confirmed. And because it's been so hot. And because Robert won't be home for days.

Angela is taking me to see Charlie's Angels tonight I think. 8:42pm (told you it'd be short)

11:07pm

We just got back from seeing Charlie's Angels and it was well worth the wait. I will have to see it with my girls when I get back to Canada. I genuinely enjoyed it on a totally superficial level. (You gotta have that periodically.) That was the most I've ever spent at the movies even though it is, as the Australians say, "tight ass tuesday". Now my tummy's in a knot from all the popcorn, but Drew Barrymore and Lucy Lui make it all worth while. I didn't even mind Cameron Diaz in this one. Wow, I'm being all dopey and teenybopper. Time to stop writing. 11:13pm
