TASTE OF SASK sarah journeyed back to saskatchewan just long enough to play a set at the taste of saskatchewan festival in downtown saskatoon on tuesday, july 13th at 2pm. it felt an awful lot like 1997 down by the broadway bridge that day.

AN EVENT FOR PEACE After seeing Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine" sarnamy decided they needed to get off the couch and do something. here's what they came up with...

REPERCUSSION CD RELEASE PARTY sarah's fiance, shaughn, is a founding member of saskatoon's new drum group, Repercussion. they are releasing their first album on Sunday, March 23, 2003 at Le Relais (440 2nd Ave N, upstairs. across from Long & McQuade). sarah will be contributing an acoustic set and the show will also feature performances from Linus Hemmingway and Shruti. Doors open at 7:30. Tickets at the door are $5 and advance tickets (available at 49 Cent Video, 613 8th St E) are $4. email Repercussionsounds@yahoo.ca for more information.

THE 3RD ANNUAL ACOUSTIC EVENING thanks to everyone who attended. your support of local acoustic music is much appreciated. everyone had longer than expected sets due to the disappearance of one of our acts and several encores and requests from the audience. riki had a pesky frog in her throat, but didn't want to let it stop her from playing a few of her emotional originals (and an ani tune) with shaughn improving on percussion. luke showed up just in time to replace our vanished second act. i especially like it when he plays really sad/angry songs or ones that were originally electric band songs. aaron made a special surprise appearance for a few songs which several members of our audience were very pleased about. chris made everyone cry with sad songs on both guitar and piano and my mom even convinced he, aaron and i to play "flying" together (completely winging it, since we haven't played it together in over a year, but we did well considering). my boys and i sounded super, if i do say so myself. we played some new stuff that no one has ever really heard before. i am reinspired. jody thinks this should give aaron and i a kick in the ass to start playing together again regularly. i was very happy to finally hear the drum group, repercussion, in a proper setting (instead of through the walls of my video store as they rehearse in the yoga studio). they've really come together to be a tight and dance-inducing group. i was quite happy with the whole event. we have a few new fans and friends now. and hopefully we will see everyone at the video store soon. if you missed the first two years and you want to know what all the fuss is about, visit this link to learn about how this series began and why.
