"So.. uh.. Nick, why we leavin' so early today.. I thought we were just goin' to dinner.. it's a little.. not dinner time.."
"Uh.." Nick bit his lip, "So we can spend more time together?"
"Aww dat so sweeeet!" crooned Mary in a cute cartooney voice, "You a doll!" she leaned over and gave him a small peck on the cheek. Soon after that, his nervousness faded and he was able to carry on a proper conversation and they drove on talking about everything that came to mind.
Finally reaching the amusement park he had decided on taking her Mary realized what they'd do on they're date, "Nickers.. honey, remember what we're wearing.." she gestured towards her dress and his suit.
Nick laughed un-surely and then smiled, "We can still have fun!"
She laughed, "I guess.." Nick got out of the car and went over to her side to open the door, "Nickers.. c'mere.." she called quietly, he opened the door and leaned in.
Mary turned her back to him and whispered, "Could you undo this.." she gave motion to her dress zipper and Nick's eyes popped out of his head, "N... n... now..? H.. here?"
She sighed, "Oh give me a break! Just undo the darn thing and stop being so immature." she jokingly glared at him and spoke slowly, "I am just going to take this 'sheath' off and wear the 'slip' dress, okay? I am far too overly dressed!"
Nick looked half relieved and half disappointed as he complied , and then took off his own suit jacket and un-tucked his shirt while undoing a few buttons. They ran for the park, Nick, pulling on an unfittingly out of place hat and Mary putting on a pair a dark sunglasses and a red bandanna in her hair. They stopped a bit and laughed at the way they looked and then continued on running until they got through the gates. Reaching the main attraction, Mary stopped in her track and began stammering on, "I.. I .. I can't do roller coasters.. I.. " she looked up at him, her face carrying a smile, "I'll go on if you hold my hand, though."
"Sure.. but only if you'll hold mine." he mockingly glanced around in a fake spy-like way, "I don't like roller coasters." he pouted and said in a Tweety type voice.
Mary smiled, "Good, I always seem to get forced onto these things... I hate it.. but I always get dragged up.."
"Me too!" Nick laughed in relief, "This is great.. but.. hey.. how about the Ferris wheel?"
"Um.. okay.. but.." Mary glanced up at him through her eyelashes, "You have to hold my hand still... heights.."
He grinned, "Ah.. I win either way! Besides.. that's why I wanted to go on in the first place."
Mary smiled to herself as they got on the ride.
Five minutes later, after they got off, their hands remained intertwined, nick tried playing basketball and found that he was considerably worse. Still, after about ten tries, he managed to win Mary a stuffed pig, which she immediately named Larry.
However, soon enough, even with their hats and glasses, Mary and Nick were soon spotted by overzealous fans.
"Oh my gosh! Are you Mary?" she looked at Nick pleadingly as the fan tightened her grasp on her wrist, he nodded, "Yeah..." she replied.
"Oh my gosh!" cried the girl loudly, "You're with Nick Carter! Why are you with him?"
"Uh.." Mary forced a smile, "He's my room buddy."
"You're holding hands!" her friend pointed out as a circle began to form around them.
"We're very close friends..."
"Friends don't do that!" one girl cried as another added in, "I saw those pictures of you two together! You're obviously together!"
"We're on a friendly date.. we both involved!" cried Mary as her and Nick were forced to stand back to back and push the fans out.
Nick began shouting at the girls to get away, "Look! I'll give you a couple autographs, but you have to give us our privacy! Back off!"
They ignored his and screamed more loudly. Nick threw his hands up into the air and coldly shoved through the section where the youngest girls were standing while Mary stood back trying to get out a couple signatures. He threw a hand back in, wrapped it around her wrist and yanked her out while park security ran in from the sides trying to see what the problem was.
"C'mon!"
"Nick!" she cried trying to loosen herself from his grip, "Nick!" she stood still and dug her heels into the ground until her finally stopped, "Why didn't you at least stay to sign a few autographs?"
"Well?" he snapped, without answering her question.
Mary shook her head, "All right.. well.. do you want to do more stuff, or go somewhere else?" she handed him her pig as she re-adjusted her bandanna, "We've been here a couple hours already!"
Nick smiled and they sat down on the bench, "Things seem to go by more quickly when I'm with you.."
"Uh.. okay.." she replied as he started humming with the pig in his hands, moving it as if it were dancing, "hmm... hmm.. I need you tonight.. I need you right now.. I know deep within my heart.. hmm.. doesn't matter if it's wrong or right.. cause I see heaven... in your eyes.. hmm.." he went on, still in a whisper, while leaning closer to her, "hmm.. hmm.. I see heaven.. ohh.. I see heaven.. hmm... I see heaven in your eyes.."
