Lisa's Review - YassieTaz@aol.com:
September 23rd '99 - New Jersey
.......Well I went to the concert in New Jersey on 9/23. Well we got to the arena at around 2:00 pm hoping to see the guys but they hadalready been there for a while.  We took pics of the tour bus though and one with 2 of their drivers. While waiting we met these cool girls who where from Canada and followed the bsb on tour, they even followed them on the European tour, i guess you can call them roadies.  They are the guys' friends.  They had a lot of pics with the guys.  They had the hottest pic of AJ showing his 69 tattoo!!  They also told us some funny ass stories about the them. So then they had to leave and then we started talkin to the security guard who was really hot!!! lol. So while we were talkin to him some lady comes up to us and asks us if we want to hand out these little flyier thingys and she would give us some bsb pics. So of course we said yes!!  We got to be the first one in the building. I know a lot of places didn't allow cameras but I had my camera around my neck and they didn't say anything.  So i was talkin to some other girls there and all of a sudden I heard AJ talk.  I was like did you just hear that, it's them!! They were going to start doing a sound check.  I was freakin out.  I couldn't believe they were right there!!  So they're singing and talkin and I'm dying outside in the hallway cause we weren't allowed to see them cause their management or something didn't want anyone in there.  But we didn't let that stop us so we went inside.  The first time I tried looking for them but I didn't see them so I ran back to the other side before I got caught. The other girls that were with us got caught and he said they were gonna be thrown out if they did it again.  Well I didn't listen to the guard and I went back inside, this time I saw AJ and I took a pic, he looked soo hot.  He was wearing a white t-shirt and a black baseball cap.  Then we went in again and this time they were all in a circle harmonizing, i don't know how I managed to stay quite but I did it lol.  Ok so after we handed out the flyers to everyone coming it we got our pics, which I might scan depending if i can get someone to do it for me, and went to our seats.  OMG they were awesome seats.  Well not awesome awesome but awesome lol.   They were section 109 row 10, we filled up the whole row.  As soon as we got there EYC came on. They we pretty good and got the crowd all hyped up by takin their shirts off and doing some funky dances.  All the fans seemed to like them and cheered loudly for them. Ok well EYC finished around 8.  Then the lights came back on and we waited impatiently for the BSB.  They kept teasin us by makin smoke come out of the box where they come out of.  Everyone started doing the wave until bsb came which was funny, and it gave us something to do while we waited.  There were also bsb chants like every 5 mins.   Well after what seemed like an eternity the lights faded and the band and dancers came out.  They started playin this tune like from Star Wars  and then bsb came out of the box with their surfboards.  It was cool cause they were right in front of us.  I loved the way aj's hair was, it was really short and blond tips if i'm not mistakin and nick had his hair kinda long then he slicked it back at one point in the show.  The first song they did was Larger Than Life. It was soooo good!  I think it was after Larger than Life when they come out and welcome everybody they brought up their stage manager and sang happy birthday to him and also dedicaded it to Nick's dad cause it was his bday too.  Then they went to Get Down, Kevin's microphone thingy across his head fell off so he spent like half of the song trying to fix it lol.  Then to The One.  Okay during this song Kev pointed at me, i pointed at myself to make sure it was me lol, and he nodded, I thought I was gonna die of excitement, but somehow I managed to stay concious.  As Long As You Love Me and they did the chair dance but they did it across from where we were so we had to watch it from the screen. Next was Don't Wanna Loose You.  It was really good, too! Then the next part was AWESOME!  It was Quit Playting Games(w/ My Heart) and they flew over the crowd!!!  IT WAS SO COOL!  Kevin was right on top of us!!!  He was only like 5 feet away, he's soo hot!! He was doing all these flips and hanging upside down. People were throwing stuffed animals at him and he kept trying to catch them, he threw some of them back at the fans.  Then there was Don't Want You Back where they got on these poles.  Kevin got on his and then hung upside down, and Brian was so cute he just kinda chilled at the top.   The Perfect Fan was next and they brought up 5 moms and 5 daughters on stage. The next song was Back To Your Heart.  In this song Kevin is playing the piano.  It kinda sucked cause he had his back at us but on the screen he looked so concentraded on what he was doing, he looked so adorable!  The other guys just sat on stage and sang. Then there was a medley of Everybody(Backstreets Back), We've  Got It Goin' On, and That's The Way I Like It.  It was VERY GOOD!!! I think it was during this song that AJ came out with a cowboy hat and brian took it off him and they all took a turn wearing the hat, it was funny. Then there was Spanish Eyes which they dedicated it to of course muah jk. Umm well next was No One Else Comes Close which was awesome.  The platform they're on spins around during the song and you get to see all the guys.  Then they went to All I Have Give, I love the dance moves to that song!!  It was funny cause when Nick  "kicked"  his hat he did too hard and almost threw it over his head. Then they did Show Me The Meaning which they dedicated to Denniz PoP. After that song they left for a while but the crowd kept cheering and they came back out with these really hot outfits on and did It's Gotta Be You. During the song they introduced the dancers and then the band.  The dancers had this little dance off.  Meanwhile AJ and Brian were fooling around on the platform. I think it was during this song that someone threw a shirt at Howie that had their pics on it and he found himself on the shirt and then pointed to himself and mouthed that's me!  He was so cute.  Then again they acted like they were leaving so they left. Then they came back out for a last time to sing I Want It That Way. Like 1 minute or less into the song the sound went off, they burnt a fuse or something.  So you could barely hear them but the fans finished the chorus for them.  They said that it was because jersey girls were too much to handle or something like that.  So they started the song all over  again and did a wonderful job.  Nick and Brian got some shirts fans had thrown on stage and put them over their head it was funny. And Howie got a Puerto Rican flag from a fan and waved it around.  We were like "Go Howie, Go Howie" lol.  Puerto Rican Power!! lol  They said their goodbyes and confetti fell then they left while the band kept playing. Throughout the whole show Nick was acting very sexual.  He kept doing pelvic thrust and everything.  At first I was surprised but then I was like "oh yeah nick, that's the way I like it"  lol  Afterwards we went outside to the z100 station and i was on the radio!!! lol.  He was askin who was everyones favorite and when they said Kevin I was like the only one that was heard so we started talkin and i was on the radio!!!  Okay that's enough excitement.  So then we finally convinced my mom to follow the tour buses to the hotels and we sorta got lost cause we lost the freakin bus but then we found the hotel.  There were like 10 people there.  It turns out we followed the wrong black tour bus.  yes their tourbus is black and it has gold lines on it so if anyone is gonna stalk them like me lol that's the one you should follow.  The people there said that the boys were staying at a hotel in manhattan, i guess since it's only 20 mins from the arena and probably no one was expecting them there so there wouldn't be a crowd.  So we just went home after that.  My friend went to the concert on the 24th though and she followed the right bus to manhattan and she got to meet them, i knew i should've gone with her!!  She's so funny, when she saw them she asked them if they were the backstreet boys, duh!  Brian was with Leighanne and she said she was a lot prettier in person than in pics and that she was very nice to her.  And AJ was with these two girls that she said looked like two anorexic hookers, guess they made a stop at 42nd street before they went to the hotel lol.  And Kevin said that he didn't have a gf and that he was "just dating".  I have to say that was the best concert I have ever seen, it's the first one i've ever been to lol.  It blows every other concert off the charts.  I hope everyone enjoys it just as much as I did! I was really proud of how I behaved lol.  I thought i'd act like a spass but i didn't.  On the other hand, I did have to slap my friend a couple of times cause she was being such a spaz, she even started to cried when she saw them!!  And she was talkin about how i was gonna start crying!  I was too excited to cry lol.  I also suggest you bring a lot of money.  A freakin shirt cost $30.  $30!!!!  That was almost as much as my freakin ticket! lol I also got to throw the panda I had gotten for AJ withmy phone number in it lol on stage.  I think i'd die if they actually did call which i doubt it will happen.

Melissa's Review - Nsync24216@aol.com:
September 23rd '99 - New Jersey
.......I have never seen BSB in concert before & I was amazed at what an awesome job they did. I have seen 3 other concerts in the past 5 months (Nsync & 98º twice), and as much as I love those 2 groups, i have to say that BSB's concert was alot better.
.......The opening act at my concert was only EYC. (I know Mandy Moore is starting to open up for them now too, and I am so mad... I would have loved to see her cuz I love her song "Candy".) Well I had a sorta bad experience with EYC at the Nickelodeon All That Music & More concert I went to, so I wasn't very happy when I found out that they would be there. In my opinion, they sucked. I also thought they were a little too sexual for the crowd. Anyway, there was about a 45 minute time period between EYC & BSB.
.......Ok, as EVERYONE probably knows by now the 1st song that the guys did was "Larger than Life". They flew on surfboards from one part of the Arena to the stage. They sang 11 songs off of Millenium (the didn't sing "I Need You Tonight") and they either sang 7 or 8 songs off of Backstreet Boys. During "The Perfect Fan" they brought mothers & daughters on stage, which I thought was very sweet. I have to say I that I loved the dancers. Everyone seems to hate them , but they added a different feel to the show. They were phenomenal by the way. I am a dancer myself, and I thought they were some of the best dancers I've seen. The band is terrific also. They have a girl playing the saxophone, those drums (bongos? i have no clue) and the keyboard. She was amazing. At one point Kevin was playing the piano (which came down from the top of the ceiling I might add) ahd she was playing the saxophone, and it sounded awesome. The way the stage was set up too, was great. I had sorta bad seats. The were up in the 2nd section, in the 5th row, and I could see perfectly! There were also screens up too. ( I think there were 5) So the screens helped you see even better.
.......Sorry that I haven't written much detail. I was so excited throughout the show, that a lot of the stuff escapes my mind! LOL,,.. but if you have tickets to this show, wheather they are in the last row or the first row, consider yourself lucky. I paid $189 for 2 tickets ( I figured out that I spent $256 altogether between parking, the tickets & souveniors), but the show was so amazing that I would have paid $1089. I mean that's how great the show was. The guys deserve so much more credit than they are given. I hope they come back here very soon so I can see them again!
