Part 13- Nefitina and Resha

Taylor blinked. His head hurt so much. But something felt right. He was in charge of his own body. He could feel it all, and suddenly..

Zac and Chelsea awoke to an ear splitting scream.

He jumped up and looked at Taylor.

“ Dammit!!! What the hell happened to my face?!” Taylor was screaming, holding his bloody face in his hands.

“ Um.. I kinda..” Zac muttered.

” Dammit!!! This hurts!”

Chelsea looked around. All was silent and still. She could not feel evil anymore.

” You guys.” Chelsea said, hushing Taylor’s anguished cry’s. “ We did it. They’re gone.”

Zac looked around too. She was right. They were all gone.

“ Thank God!” Taylor cried. Chelsea and Zac went to hug him.

“ Your face does look quite bad.” Chelsea commented. She fished around in her pocket and pulled out a handkerchief. She licked it a bit, and then began to blot Taylor’s face with it. He let her do this, but a pout was on his face the whole time.

“It’s not too deep.” Chelsea commented after a bit. “It’ll heal up and it probably won’t scar.”

” It had better not, or I’ll personally kill you Zac.” Taylor glared at his brother.

Zac shrugged and smiled. “ It was in self defense, man.”

Taylor rolled his eyes . “ Whatever.”

Chelsea groaned and looked around. Her eye caught something in the middle of the floor. A glowing rock?

She approached it slowly, looking at it and circling it from a safe distance.

She reached down slowly to touch the glowing bead.

:What’s that?” Zac went up to Chelsea and the glowing bead caught his eyes. Taylor came slowly behind Zac and looked as well.

To Chelsea’s surprise, there was no evil emitting from his rock. It was pure and clean from what her senses could get from it.

“It’s not evil…” Zac muttered.

Taylor shook his head. He knelt down and his fingertips reached to touch it. It was smooth, and as his fingers intercepted, it burst into light. The three shielded their eyes.

When they looked back, the rock was replaced by a glowing white book.

The Book of Pure was engraved into its cover.

Chelsea reached down and picked it up.

It emitted its own glowing light, and it was pure white. To their surprise, there was a cat carved into the cover. But, the cat was not black, like the ones that represented the Cattish powers they possessed. It was white, with huge bright blue eyes.

The book had a time latch on it.

On the side, it read:

Only one can open the book of Pure.

Chelsea frowned and tried to pull the latch. As delicate as it looked, it would not open.

“Let me try.” Zac said, as he pulled at the nook himself. Nothing.

Taylor took the book, not speaking The two watched him. As his hands touched the book, he himself began to glow ever so lightly. The wound across his face that Zac had scratched on him healed before their eyes.

Taylor opened the latch with a click and as it opened, more light flooded out.

“Read it.” Zac said.

Taylor was afraid. A presence was filling him suddenly, like when the Soul Snatcher had swallowed his soul, but he soon realized this was different. This presence was not of evil and it did not tug to steal his soul. It merely drifted into him, peacefully.

He concentrated on the book and relaxed slowly.

Zac and Chelsea watched with amazement when the carved white cat with the blue eyes appeared on his forehead. It blinked for a moment before it’s clean blue eyes stared out calmly.

Taylor’s own blue eyes were placid and blue. They swept slowly over the first page and he did not open his mouth, but someone with his voice read out the book, and his words echoed lightly.

“ You have opened the book of Pure. The book of Pure is originally the Black Book, but when it’s makers, The Blacks Violet and Henry died, it became the Book if Pure, that will dissolve into nothing once it is used.”

Taylor turned to the next page.

Even Chelsea could read what it said. It read THE CURSE OF THE CAT.

“ The Curse of the Cat. Given to it’s bearers, it gives them supernatural powers of the cat, as well as the third eye of evil.

“ But, although it seems like a gift, it is not. It is indeed a curse. As the bearer of this curse grows older in age, they soon realize that the evil Queen of this Cat Curse, Nefitina the Black cat of Death, is taking over. The bearer lashes out more often and soon cannot control its powers. The evil eye will eventually kill the bearer in a painful way, then transforming the bearer’s soul into a cat, to roam aimlessly.

“ But, there is a way to escape the fate of the Cat.”

Taylor turned the next glowing white page.

“ The white cat called Resha is the cat of good. She was created with Nefitina, and brings relief to the few who unlock her secrets.

“ Resha works in mystery. She will only work and heal one of the curse if she finds them worthy enough. To heal, she takes away all cat supernaturalities and replaces them with a thousand years of life. You cannot pick Resha, she picks you.”

The cat left Taylor’s forehead and suddenly the book dissolved into a pool of white and then the pool of white dissolved as well. Taylor blinked, and the presence left him.

“You ok, Taylor?” Chelsea asked. Taylor nodded slowly, shivering. He had had enough pretences and spirits host in his body for one day, that was for sure.
