Stats Name: Yuuki Miaka Age and Birthday: 15 (at time of the story), May 12, 1977 (yes, she would be 21 now) Birthplace: Tokyo, Japan School: Toritsu Daisan Junior High, 9th grade, classroom 4 Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Greenish-brown, sometimes looks gold Blood Type: B Height: 158 cm --> 5'2" Weight: 48kg Measurements: 82-59-85 Eyesight: Right 1.0, Left 1.0 Family: Mother, father (they are divorced and she lives with her mom), older brother Interests: Reading manga, eating, making cookies Miko Power: Apparently speed. And she can eat more food in one sitting than most people do in one day. Personality: Cheerful and easy going. Gets along with anyone. Easily becomes impulsive when spiritless. Naive and very trusting, but sometimes she surprisingly talks and acts very grown up, so she should not be taken lightly. Open minded and brave but not too bright. Seems to be the type who has to be around other people. She is always looked after by someone. When left on her own, she uses the spirit in people (It seems). First appears in: Episode 1 of the anime series Background Miaka Yuuki is just your average 9th grade student. She loves to eat, studies hard to get into a good high school, and generally has a good time living. She accompanies her best friend, Yui Hongo, to the National Library one day. She ever-so-typically drops a coin, and when she bends to pick it up, she is startled by the vision of a great red bird behind her. She follows the bird, Yui follows her, and they find themselves in a secluded room reading a book called The Book of the Universe of the Four Gods. The book is an incantation, but do they figure that out even though it is clearly stated? NO! They get sucked into the book, and to make a long story short, Miaka gets saved several times from doom by a boy named Tamahome and becomes the priestess of Suzaku, the Suzaku no Miko. She nearly gets killed at least once every episode, but she has seven hot guys to protect her. Lucky duck! Except for one incident I haven't even seen yet but know all about, there isn't a moment when I wouldn't gladly take her place. (Tama-kins, Ho-ri-sama, Nuriko-sama....*drool*) Why She is Vital to the Show There'd be no story without her, duh! She is basically the main character. She does stuff that is too much of a spoiler to put up, but is very important to the story and the world in general. Just think, if she had never needed to buy that dang juice, she would never have been lured into the book by Suzaku and the whole thing would never have happened. And then we wouldn't get to drool over Nakago and Tamahome! My Comments Well, a lot of people find her mightily annoying, but I like her. Miaka ain't too bright, but if she was, she would be boring. The show would be boring if she wasn't constantly getting to trouble. She has a big heart, and she likes to help people (it doesn't count that she usually messes things up REALLY bad.). She hasn't got an evil bone in her body, as far as I can tell. Images Miaka LOVES to eat. I hear a little voice.... Ummm, what? Cheerleader in a past life? Oh yeah. Awww, how cute. She is calling Suzaku. Yup, that's it. Here too. Someday, Tamahome and I will get married, and we'll have a honeymoon in Hawaii, and we'll be SOOOOO happy!
