An older brother indeed. Because of this he cares about others, and is fequently taken advantage of by people. But he tells himself "What else can I do?" Cheerful on the surface but tough on the inside (I think), is innocent and bashful. This is why he originally rejected Miaka. (For his family's sake he has grown stoic). Will sacrifice himself without hesitation to protect others against any foe. First Appears: Episode 1 of the anime Background At first glance, Tamahome seems pretty arrogant and greedy (and extremely HOT!), but we soon learn that he has good reason to be money-hungry. Tama kins mother died when he was twelve, and with his father being bedridden due to illness, Tama-kins has to support his four younger siblings by himself. He's got an especial soft spot for his youngest sister Yuiren, who was still an infant when their mother died. Tamahome is the first shichiseishi found on the Suzaku side. He eventually lets go of his money obession and focuses on his duties to his miko, etc. All this is AFTER he FINALLY figures out that he loves her. (Like we couldn't see THAT relationship coming out of nowhere.) Why He is Vital to the Show How many times does he save our courageous but not too bright miko from disaster in the first volume alone? Also, without him, there would be two less love triangles to worry about, and goodness knows it's not a romantic anime with at least 3+ love trianlges. My Comments I LOVE TAMA-KINS!!! Except for one or two scenes I haven't actually seen but know all about, I'd gladly take Miaka's place. Not that I don't like her; she allows for some dang fine Tama-viewing, if ya know what I mean. ^_~ Hehe! Tama-kins is just such a cutie pie. Images*Drool*
