Wow! The DC show was great! Yay for Sleater-Kinney! I couldn't tell ya' the setlist, but they did play "How to Play Dead." I think that's the right title. Anyway, I had so much fun. I met and hung out with some of the nicest people. I was surrounded by them! Flin Flon were cool as usual and Mark Robinson made googly eyes at me (i'm not kidding, everyone around me saw it too, hehe). They had a few problems (i.e. his guitar was REALLY out of tune in the beginning, and Nattles' bass--which is the coolest bass in the world-string broke and she had to steal Mark's). But they played my fav song, Ukraina. Versus were, as expected, great. Their puppy dog guitarist was so cute (puppy-dog cute)! By the end he was just jumping all over the place. And they were just very tight musically. Fontaine is really pretty too ( and reeeeally skinny, eek, not that there is anything wrong with that, it just scares me...cause i'm not, haha). heehee. Sleater-Kinney were so much fun! I never realized what an awesome drummer Janet is! wow! and carrie! she looked like she was having so much fun jumping around with her guitar. and she had these nifty foot moves, hehe. Corin's guitar is soooo cooool! It's sparkly! And they can all sing! Corin just started to wail and it blew me away! I don't know how she does it. I love Carrie's voice too, and Janet sang! =) I think the band was laughing at us, cause the crowd was so wild by the end. hehe. We talked to Carrie before the show and she said that they haven't played Big Big Lights for years and they don't remember it =(. another thing, i always thought Corin's name was said corIN, but i guess i was wrong cause carrie called her CORin. Anyway, the show was just a really good experience. I tried not to sing a long with all the songs, cause, even tho i want to a lot of the times, it really gets on my nerves sometimes when other people do it. But, it was so loud that you couldn't really hear the other people anyway, so it was ok. By the end of the show, i just couldn't help singing along with Dig Me Out and Little Babies and all the other cool songs. =) I think I was very lucky to be surrounded by such cool people. I mean, on every side of me was a new found friend =) heehee. The new songs that they played (not of the hot rock, newer) were kind of....eh. i dunno. i wasn't too impressed with those. but it was a super fun show.
