| LITTLE LIFE
For Bella
(August 12, 2003 - March 20, 2013)
A furry white visitation
....for nearly ten years
........content with tiny pleasures –
a random ribbon dangled
....before her clear azure eyes
........busied feisty paws
and made life such fun for
....this pure calm kitten soul.
........But such power she wielded!
Violence, sorrow and misery –
....evil in all latitudes...
........all this she conjured away
with a swift white paw
....deftly aimed at the ribbon
........enchanting us with innocence.
Simple feline lessons of
....joy lying playfully in wait
........between armchair and lamp,
oubli among the cushions
....where she softly purred
........with such pure contentment.
She died yesterday
....on the soft cushion cover
........on which she often slept
beneath the rhythmic sadness
....of our final caresses.
