"EEHHHHHHHHH?!?!?" screamed Umi.

"HUSH!!!!" whispered Hikaru softly as she desperately tried to calm Umi down. "Umi-chan, you are going to have to be quiet while they do this!"

"But..." said Umi, "First you tell me that Clef is in love with Emerria, and now you tell me to be quiet?!?"

"YES!" said Hikaru and Fuu at the same time.

"Are all three of you going to chat back there all day, or are you going to let me do this in *peace*!!" said Clef from his spot about 200 meters away. Emerria was standing behind him, ready to help him if he needed anything.

"We'll be quiet, Master Clef." said Fuu politely and Hikaru and Umi giggled. An audible grumble could be heard from their vantage point.

Clef was trying to pinpoint exactly how much farther they had to go. Not knowing any other way, he had stopped them in the middle of the day to see if he could still see the beacon of light when he touched his hand to the ground. This was their third try.

"Maybe she doesn't want you to see." said Emerria softly. "Let me try, Clef."

Clef looked up sadly. "If she doesn't want me to see..." he began, but he just couldn't seem to finish. Both he and Emerria had very sad looks on their faces.

"Clef, just let me try..." Emerria said, kneeling down next to him.

He sighed. "Okay."

Emerria spread her cloaks around her in the same fashon as Clef had done. Mimicking his movements from earlier, she placed her hand on the ground and suddenly her head jerked up. "Clef..." she said with a choaked voice. "I can see it!" Her voice was hoarse as if she had just been screaming. "I can see it!"

Clef stood back a minute and then moved to kneel in front of her eyes; He knew that she wasn't seeing with them right now. "Eme-chan, can you tell me what you see?"

"She's still north...we're almost there..." She paused. "But....she's very weak....too much power lost....her light isn't very bright." Emerria's eyes had tears in them as she released her hand from the ground. She gasped as the full loss of contact hit her and she fell into Clef's arms. "She's almost gone!"

The Magic Knights walked slowly up to the two. "We'll have to hurry then." said Umi confidently.

"We'll climb the mountain!" said Hikaru.

"And find the spirit that holds Cefiro together!" Fuu said.

Emerria just looked at Clef with tired eyes. She could almost feel the drain of power that the spirit had took. "We have to climb the mountain. It will end there, one way or another."
