For this issue of BRAT I have reviewed a number of CDs that are outside of the genres I previously restricted myself to. This is another one of those CDs. As I have said before, I am not much of a ska fan, but Catch Twenty-Two has really pulled me in--they're six guys in white shirts and black ties with 14 amazing, creative, catchy songs. While the lyrical topics are par for the course (girls, crime, the "scene," friends, etc.), the lyrics themselves are at least clever enough to be above and beyond the usual mediocre crap that passes for lyrics these days. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, there is actual songwriting going on here. I'd like to see this sextet live; I do believe that they'd be quite a sight to see. PO Box 146546, Chicago IL 60614.
