When Matt told me Victory Records sent him a promotional copy of the new Catch 22 cd and that he was gonna give it to me i was a very happy boy. Alone in a Crowd lived up to my hopes and expectations, if not exceeding them. For those who don't know, Catch 22 are a ska/punk band out of New Jersey. On their latest release they crank out 13 tracks of upstrokes and horns but throw in the occasional acoustic guitar or violin or double bass roll or guest apperence by Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed. 'It Takes Some Time' is one of my favorite tracks on this album. It goes from a catchy horn intro to a verse carried by a great bassline into a faster more punk chorous. Fun stuff. 'San Franciso Payphone' is another really good one (but dude, they're all really good). It goes accoustic intro then into a more emotional sorta ska. It's awesome. Buy this cd dude. Buy it. You'll notice im giving more specific ratings now. So i can give more specific critique. Since you care.
