Knickerbockers, Lincoln NE
This show started out with Seasick Bob, a local band. The crowd was mostly pretty sparse , not uncommon for a monday night in Lincoln. Seasick Bob took the stage and had a decent set. They sounded like they a bad version of Link 80. My main problem were that the trumpet player needs to be commited and the drummer/lead singer was hidden in the back and I couldn't hear him. Shutdown then took the stage. The crowd was sluggish at first when the lead singer wanted the crowd to mix it up with a pit, but the crowd warmed up eventually. Shutdown impressed me with their set continuity and the good music they produced, New York Hard Core at its best. Finally Catch 22 took the stage and ripped through an impressive set playing music from "Keasbey Nights" and new songs. Catch 22 played with a unique mix of ska/punk and hardcore in their music and pumped up the crowd. I left this show as a new fan of Shutdown and a bigger fan of Catch 22.
