mx456: Where can we catch you live?
Catch 22: Well, we're touring, we starting to tour in oct. we have eigth cd release parties in Detorit, NY, Pittsburgh, balitmore, Chicago... and I forget the other places. And then we'll do a full US tour in November.
miakayuuki56: What's the weirdest gift you've ever received from a fan?
Catch 22: These four girls in greenbay gave us these cabbage patch doll heads that were like mutilated. I think our bass player has them.. I'm not sure what he does with them. Pretty weird....
kumo_skacore: What are your favorite songs to play live?
Catch 22: I like Kids Unites and pretty much all the new stuff that we have.
skaswingr5: Kevin, when's the movie gonna be and where?
Catch 22: The video movie? Our video is going to be shot in three weeks in New Jersey. For the song Point the blame which is on the new record.
emo_screamo: Is Catch 22 planning on touring in Florida at all?
Catch 22: Yes.
janescoop: Is ska dead?
Catch 22: On that tour in November we'll definitely be there, probably 4 or 5 or 6 shows. No...it's not dead... not with the fans. But as far as the industry goes its being snubbed. But I wouldn't worry about it.
mx456: Musical inspirations?
Catch 22: Probably like any punk or ska band influenced me, but the main ones are Greenday, Face to Face. I'm influenced by a trumpet player called John Saddis.
kumo_skacore: Is there a full-length album in the works?
Catch 22: Yes, it's done.. it's going to be released on October 10th... it's called Alone in a Crowd.
xjayxgoddessx: If you were a toothbrush, whos celebrity mouth would you wanna be in?
Catch 22: Weird... but definitely Britney Spears!! Why? Why not!!
xxpunkgrrl_22xx that's me!: Who do you think are the best bands around today (ska or otherwise)?
Catch 22: Right now.. I'd have to go with Midtowners and Save the Day. My two favorite bands right now and a close runner up would have to go to Dr. Dre.
hurley_international_14: Is the new CD gonna be as kick ass as the hold one... any changes? If so like what?
Catch 22: The new CD it's basically the heavier stuff is heavier and the poppier stuff is a little poppier, we took the two extremes and made them farther apart.
jademonkey_67: What was the story behind 9mm and a three-piece suit?
Catch 22: The new record is catchy and really fun to listen to, there's no story behind it... it's just a song about bank robbery and gangsters and guns and stuff... no story.. nothing truthful.
mx456: Who are some of the coolest people you've played with/met?
Catch 22: We've played with a lot of cool band, but the absolute coolest band is the sonic sound machine.. absolute coolest people.
skatilite99: How long have you been playing the trumpet?
Catch 22: Since the sixth grade, so that's like 8 or 9 years.
mx456: If you were stranded on a desert island and only had 3 things, what 3 things would they be?
Catch 22: Umm... water a TV... so I could watch baseball games , and... I dunno... food. My cell phone... cuz I like to talk on the phone...
xjayxgoddessx: What do u think about all those good punk bands that started out underground and became way too popular and now teeny boppers are into them (ahem... Blink182)?
Catch 22: I think that everyone in the world teeny bopper or not is entitled to like the music. If that person thinks blink 182 is a great band, then that's great for them and that's great for punk rock to get exposed as long as the band doesn't change.
mx456: Favorite drink?
Catch 22: Vodka and pineapple juice.
EastSideMag: Do you have a new t-bone player yet?
Catch 22: Yes we do... Ian from the band Edna's Goldfish... he practiced with us yesterday for the first time. He sounded really good. We had a fill in t-bone player for the album, a guy named Mike Soprano.
mx456: Any girlfriends?
Catch 22: Yes all of us. Except for Chris and Ryan. I mean Chris and Pat, not Ryan.
kumo_skacore: I have a bet with a friend that you, Jeff were wearing a Failing Sickness shirt under a long sleeve Tee-shirt at the Skate Park of Tampa, Is this true?
Catch 22: Yeah, Jeff was, so yeah that's true.
wuleopard_2000: Wussup wit this video taping and stuff, on the weekend of the 22-24? Is it still on or what?
Catch 22: Yes, everyone that signed up will be recieving e-mails as soon as I get the invitation. But it looks like it will be on the 25th.
StrikerObi: What are you saying in the gibberish part of It Takes Some Time?
Catch 22: It's not gibberish.. it's just fast. Honestly I don't know the exact lyrics... but the lyrics are in the CD booklet when it comes out, and we'll try to post it up on the website A.S.A.P.
catch22hc: Is there a hard ska song on your new CD like "Hard to Impress"??
Catch 22: Yes. There's two actually. We rerecorded Hard To Impress, added some horns. Jamie the singer from Hate Breed added some vocals and there's another song on there like it... it's pretty hard stuff. It's all hardcore baby
janescoop: Hey, I'm from a zine called ad hominim What does "Keasby Nights" refer to?
Catch 22: It just a city in New Jersey that our old singer, Thomas, grew up in.
tenfootpoledude: Whats your favorite movie? book? TV show?
Catch 22: Movie... I have to say Star Wars. Book... umm..... okay.. skip... TV show... I like Conan O'Brien and The Practice.
onelastmatch: Are you guys gonna play the Darien Festival thing?
Catch 22: Yes, on Friday! We'll be there! It's in Connecticut
tenfootpoledude: How do you feel about Napster? I know some other bands (Less Than jake) are supportive of it. Where does Catch22 stand on the issue? (Since y'all are the people it affects most)
Catch 22: I think if abused it could eventually ruin a lot of the music business, but as of right now if people don't take advantage of it. It's a decent way to hear new bands that you may not want to buy right away, but long term it could affect CD sales... CD's will start costing 25 dollars in the future.
hurley_international_14: Do you guys like RxBandits?
Catch 22: Yes, we're friends with them, they're really nice guys.
chfwigum81: Has Victory been supportive of you guys since they're mostly a hardcore label?
Catch 22: Very, very supportive. They signed us and put out our records, so obviously we appreciate it.
t_bonejones: What NJ bands do you guys like to give props to?
Catch 22: And yeah, they're very supportive. I already gave props to Midtown, but probably Midtown and Bigwig, and Thursday.
skankinalien420: Hey is it true that you guys are coming to Montreal in September 16th, beacuse it's pretty fast, you were here like 2 weeks ago.
Catch 22: Yes we are because, our friends the Kingspins asked us to play at their cd party, and we said yeah, so we'll be there.
mx456: How do you deal with being away from home so much when you tour?
Catch 22: Call home a lot, and just think about coming back home I don't usually get to homesick when I'm on tour, it's only when we're gone for like 6 or 7 weeks, but we're usually only gone for like 4 or 5 weeks.
emo_screamo: What are the lyrics to the song "The Death of My Blood is Your Indulgence"?
Catch 22: There are no lyrics.. it was just a joke. We're picking out a good question right now....
mattpunker: Any plans for a tour of Australia in the near future?
Catch 22: Umm... no plans... we want to come really bad, it would be a lot of fun, but we probably won't be there soon cuz nobody has asked us, but as soon as someone asks us.. we'll be there
mpet29: Hey I saw Jeff at the weezer show, were you there?
Catch 22: No.. I wanted to go really bad, but I didn't. I had tickets, but I didn't go.
chfwigum81: Why did you guys want your own street team?
Catch 22: Why not? Just cuz we wanted to get the word out to as many people as possible.
rivercityrebels: Hey guys this is Gabe from river city rebels. I was wondering if you've heard our album yet?
Catch 22: Yes I have! I listened to it yesterday, it sounds real good, and you guys did a good job.
skaswingr5: Hey Kevin, whats the story behind Hey Sergio?
Catch 22: That song was written back in the day...honestly...I don't know... I really don't know... umm...but I guess that it's just about a kid we knew.
gortex51: Do you guys like playing in Chicago?
Catch 22: We love playing in Chicago, and the Metro is our favorite place to play. We'll play in October.
catch22xx: What happened to Thomas? I'm not familiar with the story.
Catch 22: He just quit the band. He didn't feel like being in a band anymore, he wasn't into touring, he hated touring.
janescoop: What's the best way to kill 2 hours in East Brunswick?
Catch 22: Just chill...I dunno...we usually just watch DVD's at Chris's house
kumo_skacore: Are you ever stopped on the street because if your Band?
Catch 22: Sometimes. One time I was walking next to a kid in the mall for like 5 minutes and he was wearing a Catch 22 T-shirt and didn't recognize me. I thought that was funny.
peetreedotcom: Name some of the names of the new songs?
Catch 22: Point Blame,It Take some times, arm to arm...... guilty pleasures... stuff like that.
skaswingr5: Where's the Jersey release party gonna be?
