The texture on this chestnut was indeed the hardest part. Try scanning the shell of a chestnut on a flat-bed scanner and see how far you get. With little to no spare time to do anything this month I put my foot down and said, "Stuff homework!" not literally but still. This chestnut is what a certain (undescribed) enemy throws at you.
To model, it took me about 10 minutes in 3D Studio in contrast to the hour it took to get the material and texture right. I suppose texturing is the most important part of 3D art.
