The Hippos: a fun, catchy package

Pros:  cute lyrics, catchy tunes, full sound

What can I say about the Hippos? They're 6 piece rockin' ska band ready to rock your world. The whole album is packed with so much fun and energy, and the songs make we wanna get up and skank! A good description would probably be a rock-ska band with elements of energetic pop. This is a great CD to listen to if you need an energy boost, or something to psych you up and make you happy. The three words that come to mind when I hear their songs are: addictive, fun, and cute. 
I don't recommend this album to you if you don't like to smile when you listen to these songs. If you like depressing and over emotional music, don't get this CD. But for those light-hearted kiddies out there, who enjoy a good round of fun, definitely get this CD. Although not one of the "deepest" CD's I've heard, the songs lyrics are filled with quirky love songs and songs of heart ache, and also clever songs about life in general. You can imagine that the lyrics come from the brain of the shy high school kid who has had a crush on the same girl since kindergarten.
The Hippos are very instrumental, and have an incredible fullness in their sound. It's almost to the point where it's like your ears can't take that much sound, but in a good way!
