~Chapter 19~

"Now you stay in this room 'til morning. Understand?" Clayton said sternly, pausing at the door of Taylor's room.

"Yes, sir." Taylor nodded. A few hours had passed since supper... and several since first arriving at- first arriving where? He was still basically lost, with no idea where the building was located. It could've been across the street... or the state, for all he knew. His mind was still a clouded mass of disbelief, made worse by the regular doses of pain-killers.

Clayton peeked his head in the door just before closing it,"Uh, good night."

Taylor only grunted in response. This is gonna be anything but a good night... he thought. He heard the door close and the sound of a deadbolt being locked. They sure don't mess around on the security front...

Although the room was a reasonable size, it didn't hold much for entertainment besides a stereo, which Tay was slightly afraid to use at the nighttime hour, for fear of waking the others. With a heavy sigh, he approached the bed, which was placed along a short, window-less wall. It was then that he first realized the room had no windows period. There was no way of telling what it was like outside. It's like being in a box... I'm like one of those catepillars Ike used to catch and put in shoe-box 'houses'... 'cept he always let them out after a few minutes... he thought.

He removed his shoes, shirt, and pants, deciding to sleep only in his boxers as he hadn't exactly had time to pack some pajamas. Crawling beneath the covers, he noticed he had forgotten to turn off the overhead light. But instead of getting up, he left it on. The last thing he wanted was to feel even more unsure and lost as he already was. Sleeping with the light on... What would Ike and Zac think of that? Tay mused, But then again, what would Ike and Zac think of being kidnapped??

Taylor felt a lump build up in his throat as his thoughts travelled to his family... to Jayden. She'll never forgive me... All of the little screw-ups, those were forgivable, but I've really done it this time... he thought sadly She probably won't even care if I'm missing... Hell, she'll probably rejoice!

Tay knew that this probably wasn't true, but felt the need to scold himself... To blame someone, for all of this.

"This sucks." Taylor said aloud, though there was no one to hear him. He curled up into a tight ball beneath the covers, careful not to jostle his wrist. Closing his eyes, he again thought of his family. Wonder what Mom and Dad are doing... No, wait, they're sleeping. Duh. Taylor thought Nice and peaceful... Lucky them...
