"And if God doesn't live, in Colorado, I guess that's where he spends most of his time"

Colorado. When you first enter it from Kansas, it doesn't look any different (of course). There are still about 100 miles of prarie before you even see any mountains. But the ground is really rising. This is where all of the trouble with my truck started happening. I didn't realize it but the gas they call 'Regular' in the midwest is only 85 Octane (I didn't realize this until 4 days later in Utah). My truck was really having problems on the hills. On top of that (or maybe because of it) the check engine light came on for the first time on the day we entered Colorado. But you don't have to worry about anything like that because this is a Virtual trip:)

This was our first view of the Rockies. Those mountains are more than 14,000 ft high and for the past 4 days we hadn't been above 2,000 ft.

This is a picture from our hotel in Frisco which is a part of Summit County, CO. If you ever have a chance to, stop there just remember what a local told me, "You have to be carefull stopping here, some people never leave." I could see why. On top of the 6 major ski areas around (A-basin, Keystone, Brek, etc.) Frisco gets more days of sun than most other places in the US. I'm sorry I don't have more pictures but it was beautiful.

The next day we drove down and out of the Rockies. The road goes through beautiful Glenwood Canyon which is where these two pictures were taken (through my windows). There is a paved trail through the whole canyon that you can walk or bike on if you don't want to look at it all from your vehicle (there is a lot to look at, these pictures don't really do it justice).

Deadhorse Canyon is one of the 6 or 7 side canyons that let out into Glenwood Canyon.

These are two more pictures I took while we left Colorado. The first is a picture of mountains in the distance from the highway. The second is another canyon we drove through near Grand Junction, CO. That is where Colorado turns from beautiful mountain scenery into dull desert.
