East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. May 2003
This was a trip with the Singapore Club Aquanauts on board the MV Empress. The boat left from NatSteel Marina in north Singapore and travelled overnight to Tioman. We then travelled south to Permangil, Dayang and Aur. The MV Empress provides a very civilised diving experience as it has a lift on the back - so no climbing up ladders!
Eye of a Masked Pocupinefish.
|
The eyes of a Flatfish. There is a lure infront of the eyes, above the mouth. This fish was using this lure at night to catch dinner. |
Hard Coral and healthy growing Coral Fan. The visibility during this trip was excellent. 25 metres plus at many dive sites, including this site called Sepoy Reef. |
Nudibranch Flabellina. There are actually two nudibranch in this picture. |
Nudibranch Gymnodoris Citrina. |
Nudibranch Mexichromis. |
Nudibranch Phyllidia Exquisita. |
Someone lost an anchor (not us though). |
Painted Rock Lobster. Found on the reef on a night dive. It swam backwards in leaps, folding all it's legs and it's tail underneath itself. |
Decorated Crab. Doing a good job of making itself look like a bit of coral and sponge. |
Scalloped Tail Barracuda. On a day dive around Ringis, there were several groups of 4 / 5 barracuda just hanging out. |
