Ami brushed her bangs from her eyes, smiling softly into the mirror. She was twenty five years old, living with her boyfriend, Thomas, in their own apartment, and she was a doctor. Finally! All of her goals had been reached and made her happier then she had ever been before in her life.
Except for a small emptiness she felt in the pit of her stomach she felt whenever she saw two lovers hug and kiss after their child was born. Not jealousy... envy. She wanted love.
And, as much as she cared for Tom, she knew, deep inside, that it wasn't love. She cared about him deeply, like she would have for Usagi or Minako, any of her dearest friends, but..not *in* love.
"Ami-chan!" He called from the living room, walking into their room, holding out the cordless phone. "You have a call."
"Arigato, Tom-chan." She said softly and took the phone. "Moshi moshi?"
"AMMMMMI-CHAAAAAN!" Came Usagi's voice, quite loud and bursting with happiness.
However, Ami was so glad to hear her friends voice, that she didn't mind the dull ache in her ear. "Usagi-chan! It's great to hear from you! How are things going, Usagi?"
"Genki, genki." Usagi assured her. "And yourself, Ami-chan?"
"Happy." She responded. "What made you decide to call?"
"Weeeelll, it's been five years since I saw any of you guys and I wanted to ask you if you'd come to a Sailor Senshi Reunion!"
Ami felt sparks flying in her heart. Able to see the girls again..? All of them?? "Oh, Usagi!" She cried, almost crying she was so happy. "I would *love* to go!"
"Really?? Sugoi!" Usagi gushed. "Can you call Minako and Rei for me?"
"Sure. What about Mako?" Ami sighed a bit when she said her former lovers name out loud for the first time in three years.
"I already called her." Usagi said cheerfully, obviously not remembering the huge, loud all-and-out fight Ami and Makoto had. "Already called Haruka and Michiru as well, and they're calling Setsuna."
"Oh... When?"
"This Friday until Sunday. Can you make it?" Usagi asked anxiously.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world, Usagi-chan!" Ami smiled brightly. "I've missed you guys so much! This will be great!"
"Hai! Oh, gotta go, Ami-chan!"
"Okay. Ja, Usagi-chan." They hung up at the same time, Ami smiling brightly at the thought of seeing her girlhood friends again.
Usagi gently placed the phone in the cradle, sighing to herself. She turned to face Makoto, sitting on the couch, chatting with Haruka and Michiru while Chibi-Usa and Hotaru talked in Chibi-Usa's room. "She's coming."
They all looked at her, faces blank. "Huh?" Haruka finally asked, one eyebrow raised.
"Ami is coming." Usagi rephrased her earlier statement. And, sure enough, that one, three-letter words made all the difference in the world. Makoto paled and she leapt off the couch.
"But, Usagi, you said you wouldn't call her!" She cried.
"Calm down Mako!" Usagi ordered, finally acting as an adult. "She didn't say your name with hate or anything, so she isn't mad. Trust me. Besides, what kind of reunion would it be without the brains of the Senshi, eh?"
"Thanks." Haruka said dryly. "Sit down, Makoto. You're lover isn't coming until tomorrow."
"We broke up." Makoto muttered, but sighed and sat down anyway.
"Why was that anyway...?" Usagi wondered aloud, sitting next to Mako. "I mean, it takes A LOT to get Ami-chan to yell that loud or that much!"
Makoto flushed a dull red. "I met someone at collage..."
"Oh, yes..." Michiru mused, taping her chin with one finger. "I remember now. That male student, right?"
"Yeah. But it was at this big Frat bash and I was lonely... America is a long ways away."
"Ahh..the one night stands..." Usagi sighed happily, relaxing against her cushions. "The good ol' days, eh?"
"Never had one." Haruka said immediately, grinning. Michiru nodded and agreed.
Usagi stared at them, eyes wide. "Are you two SERIOUS?!"
Makoto rolled her eyes at Usagi's stunned expression. "Usagi-chan, not everyone is a whore like you!"
"I am not a whore!" Usagi squawked, glaring at her old friend. "You're so mean!!"
...and so, things were the same within the Sailor Senshi..
