“Ohiyo! Kino-san are you here?” Ayanee had just walked in the door. Ami quietly followed and shut it behind them. They both striped off their bike gear, which for Ayanee consisted of chaps, gloves, a leather jacket, and a helmet. Ami just had the helmet and jacket.
“Hai, I’m in the living room.” Makoto’s voice came from by the couch, as she was getting up to greet them.
“So, how did it go” All three women paused for a moment then started to laugh. They had all said the exact thing at the exact time.
“Ha!” Ayanee exclaimed. “Now everyone gets to make a wish.”
The girls both smiled then everyone closed their eyes and thought of a wish. Ami and Makoto’s wishes were similar, they both wanted their friendship to work. And they wanted it to last a long time. Ayanee had wished for happiness and stability for everyone in the room. All three were quiet, focusing on their wish and willing it to come true. A moment later Ayanee broke the silence. “Alright, lets go get the table ready and then we’ll talk.” The elder Mizuno herded everyone into the kitchen. She wanted to have the table set by the time take-out Makoto ordered arrived.
The food had arrived soon after, and the meal was a very pleasant affair. All three women conversed freely. Something witch was extremely rare for both Ami and Makoto. Makoto explained that she had talked to her lawyer, and that he would take her to the police station tomorrow to file a report. Also he had called around and found that the boy was in serious condition. He was expected to pull through however. Turns out that Makoto had punctured one of his lungs when she broke his ribs. In addition Sana had a severely fractured arm and Ritsako has a concussion.
Ayanee asked how she felt about that. Makoto, not one for tact stated that she wasn’t sorry for any pain he was in. Or Sana for that matter, just so long as they weren’t dead. Ayanee and Ami both disliked the answer, but respected Makoto’s honesty and her position. She was attacked with weapons by three people after all. When asked if anyone was pressing charges, Makoto said none yet, but that could easily change. She was also lucky that no one was out searching for her, since all the witnesses told that she was indeed attacked with a lethal weapon. In fact, she could press charges if she wanted to. That’s what her lawyer said at least. Makoto wasn’t all to sure about that though.
When she was done Ami told Makoto about her visit to the Academy. Makoto mostly listened, but did ask a few good questions every now and again. She commented that she was impressed with how smart Ami was, and how she wished she were half as smart. Ami of course blushed at the compliment, and thought of her previous ones about Makoto’s looks and strength.
After their meal was finished everyone said there goodbyes. Makoto had to get some sleep so she could get up early in the morning. She was going to have to miss a half day of school, but promised Ami she would see her at lunch. Ami on the other hand, had a lot of studying she needed to do. Ayanee for her part was just ready to call it a day. She had offered Makoto a ride home, but Makoto didn’t want to trouble her and claimed that she needed the walk.
With Makoto gone, the two Mizuno’s began to clean up. “Makoto seems like a great girl, huh?”
Ami smiled at her mom. “Yes she is. I am lucky she decided to help me today.” Ayanee shook her head in agreement with her daughter's statement. “I hope every thing turns out well for her tomorrow though.”
“Well Kami willing everything will turn out fine.” Ayanee finished washing the last dish and started to dry her hands on a kitchen towel. She caught herself in a yawn and blushed as her daughter giggled slightly. “I suppose that’s my cue to get to sleep. Goodnight Little Bean.”
“Goodnight mom.” Ami gave her mother a quick hug and kiss. Wow, what a day!
Jadeite… Jadeite… The soft whisper of a voice floated into the Generals private chambers. Currently he was lying naked across his bed, A young yoma was curled up to his side. Both were sound asleep and as yet unaware of the presence. Jadeite… Once again the voice whispered his name, this time causing him to stir. Awaken my general, I have need of you. The soft voice floated through the air. Jadeite upon hearing the voice of his undead queen was frightened. It was not often that his mistress Beryl would talk to him personally. He quickly gathered his sleep dulled wits and senses, he did not want to miss anything, or worse offend his mistress. Now fully awake he sent the young yoma out of the room. He stood and knelt in the middle of his chambers.
“My lady, what may I do for you.” Jadeite had to focus to keep from trembling. The Aura that his queen was giving off was incredible. Such a concentration of intelligence, strength, and pure sick evil, he had never before encountered. Even in the days of the Silver Millennium when he first joined her, she had never had this much hatred or power. He gasped as a ghostly hand gently caressed his cheek. The blonde General tried to look up, but an unknown force kept him down.
After a moment, the voice began to whisper again. It was a cold hollow rasp that chilled Jadeite to the core. You have done well in your gathering of energy, Metallia is pleased. However, your Yomas are not fairing well against the threat of the Moon Senshi. You must train them better. The General paled and gasped as images and feelings of the consequences of failing filled him. The ghostly voice was silent for a moment. It waited until Jadeite was calm, and understood that failure would not be tolerated. I have finally found your three comrades.
Jadeite’s heart leapt at this. His brothers in arms, and best friends for thousands of years have finally been found. He hasn’t seen them since they were killed by Serenity in the last attack on the Moon Kingdom so many years ago. An attack in which he was the first of the four to die, only to be reborn in this world by the will of Metallia and Beryl’s spirit. The dark General had been living out a normal boring life in Germany for 23 years. That changed when Beryl had found him. She was able to return to him his memories, and his powers that he had as a warrior for the dark kingdom. So for the past five years, he has been working for her. Five years spent training a cadre of Yoma warriors and gathering energy.
Now, finally his friends would be reunited with him. That thought filled him with a sense of elation and he knew they would be unstoppable. Again Beryl’s voice floated across the room. I need you to abandon your current project. Go to Spain and seek out Nephlyte, He is living under the name Fransisco De Cordonna. When you return I will have awakened Kunzite and Zoisite. Jadeite wanted to protest putting his plans on hold, however he had not the courage to question his mistress.
“Of course My lady, I will leave tomorrow.” Jadeite waited for a reply, but the spirit had left. This will cause some problems. I need to leave the disks on the Mizuno girl with Garabon. Also the other projects I have will need to continue unsupervised. Jadeite rose to his feet and walked into a side room which had a type of hot spring. There he bathed and mentally reviewed everything that must be done. Including how he was going to “awaken” his brother. He had much to do and would not be getting anymore sleep tonight.
“Luna-sempai!!!” Usagi hoped up from her desk and ran to greet her mentor, who had just came in through an open window. “Are you okay? I haven’t seen you in four days!!!” the silver haired girl nervously danced around, impatiently waiting for her teacher to speak.
“Calm yourself Usagi.” Luna sat down and started to speak to her student. “I have been busy gathering information on what I think might be a new enemy.” In truth she was asleep three of the four days. The use of her Moon blast attack drains her greatly. “I want to review what happened on Friday.”
“Ulp…” Usagi groaned. “You saw that?” She asked rhetorically, yet still hoping she didn’t.
“Hai, I saw it and I must say that,” The young girl bowed her head ready to cry at whatever reprimand Luna was going to give her. “You did a very good job, all things considered.”
Usagi lifted her head and looked at Luna questioningly. “Nani?”
“Don’t get me wrong,” Luna replied. “There is still much you could have worked on. And why on earth can’t you do that good while you are transformed into Sailor Moon.” Usagi sighed and sat down ready for another of Luna’s scoldings. “What have you done while I was gone? Did you keep up with your training?” Usagi looked guilty at this. “I thought not.”
Luna continued lecturing Usagi for a few minuets. After she said her piece she started to give her student a technical analysis of her performance against the water creature. “From what I can tell all that creature was, was water being controlled by something. That is, it had no power of it’s own.”
Usagi quickly asked the obvious. “Is it a new enemy? Well not the water but the thing or person that controls it I mean Well maybe the person who controls it… Arrgh I am jumbling myself up.” Usagi laughed nervously and scratched the back of her head.
Luna shook her head. I know she’s only fourteen, but Serenity why does she have to be so much of a flake. This one will be lucky to survive much longer. “Usagi I have a fair idea of who our enemy is.” Usagi looked at her expectantly waiting for the answer. “However there are some inconsistencies. I need you to think back.”
“Okay.” Usagi drug the word out questioningly, not all that sure where Luna was going with this.
“I believe that the girl you were trying to rescue was unconsciously controlling it.” Usagi was about to protest her new friends involvement, but Luna cut her off with a glare. “The reason I think this, is that its movements were focused around her, and it stopped when she was knocked unconscious. I also felt a very strong energy coming off of her.”
“Luna-sempai, Ami is no Yoma. I just had dinner with her on Saturday. Her and her mom are two of the coolest people I’ve ever met. And Ami has to be the nicest and shyest girl out there.” Usagi looked almost offended that her mentor could suggest this. “You don’t even know her, so you can’t even suggest this.”
“Look Usagi, just because you seem normal, doesn’t mean you are. What was Ami doing when the water started to attack?”
“Uhm well she was a..” Usagi blushed a bit and mumbled something that luna couldn’t quite hear.
“What was that Usagi?”
“I said that she was kind of dopey sleeping under a bush.” Usagi was a little slow at connecting the dots, but even she was able to see the connection. Luna shot her a smug look. “Well maybe she’s a good Yoma. Because I mean she was so nice and timid. And like I said her mom was so cool they wouldn’t hurt anyone.”
“There is no such thing as a good yoma Usagi.” Luna snapped, then paused and thought for a moment. “Well, there are a few other things she could be. I’ll tell you what Usagi. I want to meet this girl, I might be able to tell what she is by being around her. But if she turns out to be a yoma, you must not hesitate to kill her.” Luna locked her eyes with her student. “Is that understood Usagi?”
Usagi slowly nodded, she was already tearing up at the idea of destroying her friend. Yoma or not, Usagi hated to kill. The fact that she knew this yoma made it harder. “Hai, I understand. We should meet before school tomorrow.” Well hopefully, I was late this morning so I missed her. Actually maybe it would be better if Luna didn’t meet her. I think I’ll be late tomorrow.
“Good, now come with me. We need to practice your aim, It’s terrible.”
“Aaaah I don’t want to go out now.” Usagi whined.
Luna hoped onto Usagi’s lap and stared her right in the eyes. Hers were filled with total seriousness and a little threat. “You don’t have a choice Sailor Moon. If you don’t practice, then you will die. Simple as that.” Usagi’s lip started to quiver. “Quit crying and lets go.”
Usagi cried anyway, and slowly followed behind.
