CHAPTER 11: ROYAL PAINS IN THE ASS

"You were right," Jordan said as he walked into my office.

I raised a brow. Huh?

"The raid. We were set up," he explained.

I leaned back into my chair. Just as I had thought. I had suspected the police raid on the karaoke the other day was due to foul play. We normally received tip offs whenever the cops had an operation. However that raid had caught us by surprise. I sure as hell didn't believe that the Hong Kong police had suddenly become so smart as to have evaded our raid 'tippers'. So I had conveyed my concerns to Jordan and had asked him to investigate the matter. If there really was a traitor or traitors in our midst, they would have to be taken care of promptly. They were bad for the business.

I waited for Jordan to continue.

"Dagger jai was the one on watch duty that night. It took us awhile to weed him out but we found him eventually."

"And?"

"We had a 'talk' with him. Apparently he was put up to it," Jordan said.

I frowned. It didn't sound good at all. Someone wanted to cause trouble for the White Dragons.

"It seems that the Royal 13s have taken a sudden interest in our affairs," he continued.

"Hung yeh?"

Jordan nodded. "His boys have been messing around our territory lately."

"How sure are you that Hung yeh is involved? It could be just some of his people causing trouble without his knowledge." I knew I shouldn't have doubted Jordan's words. But I was hoping otherwise. The last thing I wanted was a turf war.

Jordan's brows creased into a frown. "The Royal 13s would not dare if they didn't have the consent of Hung yeh."

I got up and paced about the room. This wasn't good news at all. I had known all along that Hung yeh was interested in White Dragons' territories. He had been eyeing them ever since my father died. Nope, he wasn't happy at all when the leadership of the White Dragons was passed to me. I still remember how he had protested. If it weren't for the support of Loong yeh, Uncle Tim and Sandra jie, Hung yeh would have gotten his way. So...now he was back to his old tricks.

I looked at Jordan. "Maybe it's time to have a chat with Hung yeh."

-------------------------------------------------

We were shown into a private room at the restaurant. Hung yeh was already there, together with a roomful of his men. I felt Jordan tense up a little. There were only 4 of us - Panther and Ah Fei who were Jordan's assistants, Jordan and me. And here we were, totally surrounded by Hung yeh's people who outnumbered us about 6 to 1. Jordan had insisted that we bring more people but I was adamant. The four of us would do. I wanted to avoid confrontation at all cost. If we had turned up with a whole shebang of people, it would look like we were asking for a fight. And that was the last thing on my mind. Anyway, if things turned ugly, I had a backup plan.

"Hung yeh," I greeted him.

He gave me a disinterested look and motioned for me to sit down. "So, did you miss me so much, you wanted to see me?" he smirked, exposing a gold filling.

I ignored his leering comment. "Hung yeh, it seems you've been taking an interest in White Dragons' territories lately," I said calmly.

He snorted. "So what if I am."

I clenched my fist. Bloody cocky bastard. I could have got up there and then and pulled a trigger at his head. I imagined his brains splattered all over the table. No more Hung yeh. That felt so good.

"What makes you think I'm going to let you," I said, controlling my temper.

He laughed. "Tsk, tsk. Little girl, what makes you think you can stop me?" he sneered. "The White Dragons deserve better. Under the Royal 13s and my leadership, we'd be the biggest group in the whole of Hong Kong. Even Tung Sing and Hung Hing wouldn't compare then. Little girls like you should just stay at home, find a husband and spread for him. Oh, I forgot. You're a lesbian. One of those sickos who don't like men."

"Watch what you're saying, you asshole."

Before I could react, Jordan had already pulled his gun at Hung yeh. Panther and Ah Fei followed suit. So did the rest of Hung yeh's men.
